How much better or worse will Switch 2's 3rd party support be?

Switch 2 will nearly have... 12 22.64%

Switch 2's 3rd party supp... 32 60.38%

Switch 2's 3rd party supp... 7 13.21%

Switch 2's 3rd party supp... 0 0%

Switch 2's 3rd party support will be dead 2 3.77%

1 0 0%

1 0 0%

1 0 0%

1 0 0%

1 0 0%

Total:53

It will be better like many already said here purely because of its capacity, since it's likely that the Switch 2 will be able to handle most AAA games. I'd add to that the high possibility that developers will in fact consider the Switch 2's power to even start developing their games, instead of going straight to the highest-end possible for their titles. It would be stupid to ignore the successor to the console that's likely to become the highest selling in history.

For the answer you have to read the news. Quite easy: Search "Switch 2" in google. Nearly every "3rdy" is on board. Even GTAVI is rumored to come and Rockstar is a Nintendo hater! Besides of EA Shitheads as good as anyone is on board. I mean Switch 2 will have Doom: The Dark Ages!! And thats not the only one. Even (Ex) competitior Microsoft wants to bring their Xbox games on Switch 2. Sony even started on Switch 1 (Lego Horizon). I want to push it out of my head but i really have a strong feeling Astro Bot will get a Switch (2) port! Switch (2) is the only living plattform with real excluive games. That will drive sales. I don't think the will match Switch 1 but it won't be a WiiU/ Vita like flop. The only thing that Nintendo would need is a console on par with current gen. If they had that there would basically be no reason for an Xbox and less reasons for a PS every year. So we can be happy that the Switch 2 will be in the PS4Pro ball park.

The Switch 1's third party support was OK at first because of the failure of the Wii U, but it got better after how much of a success it was. With that in mind, I believe the Switch 2's third party support will be better than the Switch 1.

While everyone is speculating about the Switch surpassing PS2, nobody sees Switch's Software (~1,4 Bio.) coming dangerously close to PS2 (1,55 Bio.). 3rdys will be there but will it be a sucess? Yes, but will it play in the same hights as the Switch? I don't think so...

Games with high end graphics are becoming more and more expensive to make, so for a lot of devs it might not make sense to make games beyond what Switch 2 can handle ports of in the first place.

Look how many games still come to PS4/XBO more than four years after their replacement. Chasing the graphics dragon is a risky endeavour these days and if you're not one of a few big players you might be better off settling for something that can run on as many platforms as possible.

I think the Switch will garner a lot of ports of old Xbox One/Playstation 4 era games as it will now have the hardware viable enough to do it cheaply and easily... Just like how the Switch got a ton of enhanced Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 ports.

Yes, i also see that coming. Surprisingly there seem to be some PS5/XSX(SS) ports as well. But about its sucess its really to early to tell. We only know the reactions on the unveil where amazing and the video even surpassed the PS5 unveil video. But thats only a pie of the cake and says basically nothing. Lets wait after April 2 and when the first preorder numbers get in. After the launch we have a better picture of where the journey could go.

By the way: Does anyone know McDaniel77 here?

Pre-orders inflate the real interest of a console.

Xbox Series X/S exited the gate strongly and has struggled in recent times.

Both systems started really well, but only the PS5 saw sucess. I guess part of te reason why also the Xbox was such a huge sucess at its launch was the fact that there where nearly no new announcements in 2020. Because of Covid everything was delayed or canceled, developers had to work in home office, so it made it more difficult to work. And then there where 2 brand new consoles. Of course people where ot in getting something new. Thats also part of the reason why slso the Xbox did really well at launch! But we know it did not last.

A significant improvement but the power difference still means a lot of games will not be able to run on it without decent investment from teams/publishers, so naturally many games will still skip it but I think a good 70% will be ported to Switch later which will be a monumental improvement upon Switch.
