The NES versions are my thing. But they aren't Contra-hard. Contra, at least at a high difficult setting... now those are man-games. |
There's also the new 2D Ninja Gaiden. Think that will be as inhumanely difficult as the NES ones?

Aside from the revival, shadow dropped remaster and announcement of a new game in production, it's truly the fact that Platinum Games as co-dev that's got my attention here considering they were allegedly bleeding some of their most important directors at the studio a few months back.
Does that mean, they might still be working with Nintendo on other game for the Switch 2 lineup actually ?

My brother adored Ninja Gaiden and Black and despised Ninja Gaiden 2 both story and gameplay wise (chaotically hard and unsatisfying according to him, and I could see why as I watched him play) Ryu Hayabusa looked inferior and was too docile compared to the first game from what I remember. They "uncooled" him. One thing we kept making fun of is the sounds "Volf" made upon defeat lmao.
Looking forward to this though.
I think the biggest surprise is the fact that it comes from 'xbox games publishing' it makes it possible for Ninja Gaiden IV to exist, A win for gamers (possible a switch 2 version aswell?) just curious what other xbox games publishing projects they are supporting (especially the ones in Japan)
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black's visual jump is HUGE man. I just wish the much more memorable Ninja Gaiden 1 receives the same treatment later. I wonder why they prioritized the 2nd game, is it because the first had more versions?

It must be because Ninja Gaiden 1 already received a "Black" definitive edition, and the 2nd game never did till now. But yeah, it's coming up on 20 years old at this point, so not much point in leaving the first game in the past just because it's already received the Black label.
Good thing for right now is that NG1 Black was part of Xbox's FPS Boost program, so the game runs at 4K 60fps. Would be preferable if it got the modern treatment though. Still my favorite game in the series.
Definitely happy having more Ninja Gaiden though

Perhaps with a difficulty setting. But stock? I doubt it. The days when beating a game meant something are pretty much over.
Anyone ever play the original Arcade game of the SEGA versions? No they do not compare to the NES versions at all. Still just curious.
