Many of my favorite games don't need sequels in my opinion, but some of the ones that do...
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, obviously. The story was so good, the characters were so incredibly well realized, I wanted nothing more than to spend more time with them. Besides, they could really amp up the gameplay to be something deeper and more interesting - the "straight line" approach worked in this game but I'd love to see a sequel that gave the player a bit more freedom. The narrative was mostly wrapped up within the game but still left a lot of doors open for sequels and it definitely felt at the time like one was coming. A lot of the people behind the game expressed interest in making another one too, from the voice actors to the director to a lot of the writers and developers. Now, well... It's probably never happening. And that's just depressing.
Astral Chain. I suppose this is up in the air for now, but I don't know, I've a bad feeling it'll never happen... Any way, similar thing to Guardians, I'd love to have a sequel be a bit more open-ended. Less chapter-based like the first one and a bit more like, say, Nier Automata. Setting-wise I'd love a sequel that moves away from the police stuff, instead give us a different main character who lives in the suburbs like what we saw in File 6 of the original, and a more personal/intimate story rather than saving the world and stuff.
Star Fox 64. It got many sequels, but never a proper one.
and on that note, Breath of the Wild...
