As a note

The definitive edition will be based off the WESTERN version of the original Wii U version

Which means there will be no breast slider, and lin-lee will have a censored swimsuit

Edit: casual 32 player (casual) online has me intrigued

Nice. While the story wasn't the greatest the world and progression were really next-level. This was the game that made me say Monoliftsoft needs to be brought in to help Game Freak get its act together with the Pokemon games.

Very curious what the visual improvements are. It's hard to tell just from the new trailer if there's anything beyond a resolution bump.

That E3 2013 trailer was one of Nintendo's best. What's more shocking is it was in the same Direct as the terrible first trailer for Mario 3D World.

I really disliked mainline Xenoblade combat, thought it was boring. But I enjoyed the worldbuilding and story, I would play another game with other combat system in a similar setting

Is this game combat similar to standard Xenoblade? Or is something different?

It's similar. A little more complex in fact.

It makes sense that they choose to port over this to Switch rather than making a Switch 2 version, Xenoblade X is so niche so that the best way for it to not repeat its Wii U sales performance is to come out on a system with a huge install base, and if it came out during the Switch 2 launch window it would get overshadowed by much bigger releases, while now Xenoblade X will be the major release on Switch when it comes out in march.

I think that it would probably have done better being the big launch RPG for Switch 2. Hopefully it has some Switch 2 upgrades for that console when it comes out. I'd enjoy that.

Now they just need to release a double pack of Wind Waker HD and Twlight Princess HD and the Wii U will be truly dead to basically everyone.

........ I still use Wii Fit U :D

Don't judge me! I'm not even a fan of the Wii U, but I'm in the ongoing habit of using that application. Literally counts my weight fluctuations all the way back to April 2008.

1. It better have a casual mode. Even my cousin who is more skilled at most games than me couldn't beat the final boss after many hours of trying.
2. I'm glad I didn't play more than a few hours when I bought the game on clearance back in 2018.
3. Even if it doesn't get a native Switch 2 version, I all but guarantee it will be boosted on Switch 2.
4. It's out for the 10th anniversary of the game and just about the last Wii U holdout, at least excluding HD versions of Zelda.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 48 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I can now take any thoughts of buying a WiiU and throw them to the wind.

And Yoshi's Woolly World, too.  You can't forget about that one if you want all of the WiiU greats on Switch.
