Well now I feel kind of bad for joshing you in that other thread. But azrm2k, rolstoppable, and all the others just made me feel better.
Seriously though, don't waste too much energy trying to convince everyone that you're right. The data's been out there for the naysayers to see for quite a while now, so those who refuse to believe it probably aren't going to change their minds anytime soon. For now, just be satisfied that the rest of us do not buy into the myth.

And enjoy your games, although it may be hard to choose between the many 3rd party games coming out now. Personally, I'm getting Okami, but I'm sure you've got your own pick of the litter.

Much appreciated.   Basically this was just to see what kind of reception it would receive when faced with facts.  I didn't anticipate anything other than what transpired.  This was as much to prove Wii 3rd party sales as it was to prove how ignored they are.

If sarcasm was a cheese this thread would be coated in Velveeta!

Username, in my thread you said that you never troll the Wii? Well, look what you just did! I'm sick of you and I have been lately. You are one of the people trolling Wii lately. Like we needed your craptastic comment.

(see, i didn't cuss. where's he cookies from the teacher username?)

A lot of Ps3 fanboys are getting on my nerves. But, I'm trying not to let them influence what I think about my Ps3.
Asking for more data and porviding a possible explanation of the numbers is trolling? Well dang, that makes pretty much all of us trolls then doesnt?

And if you'll see, the Wii did in fact have more 3rd party releases recently, which could be an explanation of it selling more third party games for this week.

Please go grow up, and come back when you've matured.

Only 1 title which accounted for just 47k of the 437k meaning it still sold 390k worth of older 3rd party titles.

Wii - 390k (minus the single new release)

X360 - 390k

PS3 -  190k

Anyway you slice it, 3rd party sales are far better than most people assume and even still with facts and figures produced for you guys, you still try to make excuses and demand exclusions.

Maybe when GTA4 will be launched you should make a 3rd party sales thread ... and then you can include the sales of Okami to :P

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Rol: I think you're losing it. You used to be unbeatable in this sarcasm thingy, now everywhere little RolStoppable clones start popping up out of nowhere and even beat you...

Where are the glory days of the Bingo and Resident Evel 5?

What's next: losing in Mario Kart? (Blue Team rules big time btw)

You really should consider taking a holiday and return as if reborn. You owe that to yourself.

I think one of the big mistakes many people make is they assume that there is a universal sales level which is equally good for all games, and since the XBox 360 (and PS3) have more games that have sold more than their arbitrary sales level that third party games are doing much better on the XBox 360 (and PS3) ...

The truth is that the goal for determining "success" of many games is when the game has broken even on all development costs, recovered all marketing costs, and passed the companies desired return on investment. Being that XBox 360 (and PS3) games cost more to develop, and have much larger marketing budgets it is fair to say that the typical goal for determining success of a game on the XBox 360 (and PS3) would be much higher than that of a Wii game; at the same time most XBox 360 (and PS3) games are multiplatform which should limit the sales that are necessary per platform.

There is little doubt that games like Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Red Steel have been break-out successes being that they are all million selling games; at the same time it is reasonable to say that games like No More Heroes, Zack and Wiki and Elebits have also been successful for their publishers from the response of these publishers to these games sales.

Interesting...

The way i see this is...wii does have 6 million more consoles than 360 and last week was a pretty dead week for ps360... But still props to wii for selling some 3rd party.

We need more detailed charts to make a full conclusion...howmuch revenue was made, howmany games achieved this total. If 3 games sold 300,000 and then 30 others sold the other 100K... What are the NA VS EU vs Japan numbers...

I still don't consider Mario and Sonic 3rd Party, it has Mario in it even if it was published by Sega.

But this is besides the point, so the thread is about 'this week' in world charts. How about we takes a 3rd party game that was released on all systems and was released months ago and that have slowed in sales. Like say FIFA 08?

Sales for FIFA 08 for Wii - 544k
Ps2 - 2.54m
PSP - 830k
PS3 - 1.29m
360 - 1.13m

This aside, Wii software sales are great and this translates to many games on the Wii selling well, including many other 3rd Party games.

Hmm, pie.
