Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Game Freak has been hacked

Tagged games:

Game Freak, the main developer of Pokemon, appears to have been hit with a significant hack. And that is what we know so far:

- The codename of Switch 2 is Ounce

- The source code for Pokemon Heart Gold / Soul Silver and Black 2 / White 2 have surfaced

- Pokemon Legends Z/A is already finished and is just a Switch game. Codename Ikkaku

- Gen 10 is a Ounce game. Codename Gaia. Two versions: K and N

- A game with codename Synapse, Splatoon-like. Reports of it being an unreleased multiplayer battle title, with some describing it as a PvP or MMO game. ILCA, who worked on Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl, is apparently involved with this project.

Who's responsible for the hack?

Juicy details.

Excited for Gen 10 but I am behind. Still gotta play Gen 9 (Scarlett/Violet).

Right now playing through Pokemon Platinum and will play Scarlett. Already finished Gen 8 (Sword) last year.

Hoping Gen 10 will be 2026 with B/W remakes in 2027.

ZA should hopefully be in 2025.

Dont care for the MMO.

Edit: Speaking of Pokemon...I'm about to be finished with the anime of Pokemon XYZ (Gen 6) and about to start on Sun/Moon (Gen 7)

Curse you North Korea!

Are we certain this is legit? If so, it’s nice to see that Ounce as the confirmed code name. Only sources stating it prior were Pyoro and Midori earlier this year. (Supposedly, the reasoning behind “Ounce” is to emphasize how light of a machine it is despite running graphics likely above PS4-level.)

Ooofff, also I heard the hacker in question managed to have access to the Nintendo dev portal so in that whole Terabyte of info. There's likely stuff about the Switch 2,other project codenames and stuff like that.

*Sigh* We're gonna hear a looooot about this in the future won't we ... Prolly also means we'll see "leakers" pooping off left and right trying to get their 2 min. of glory by refering to anything that's inside that leak 😒

Although, I hardly believe it, hearsay says that the person in question will refrain from sharing anything related to Switch 2 and new games ... How "considerate" if true lol

Edit :

Actually it doesn't matter if he's not the one doing it, others will scour through any valuable info they can get anyway.

The source code for Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver were part of the leak and the leaker provided the files.

I have no idea what this means lol but the way you word it sounds like this is “smoking gun evidence” of legitimacy. That sucks for the ppl behind Pokémon Co & GameFreak. :/

Can someone hack Platinum Games and reveal Astral Chain 2.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Nothing of particular note, it seems, but I'm worried The Pokemon Co. and ILCA are still working together after the DP ""remakes"" were a thing.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
