Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will the Switch 2 be revealed this month?

The Tegra T239 is the processor the Switch 2 and all the Switch 2 components have their own product code prefix distinct from the Switch 1 at the production level. You think a manufacturing facility that has millions of different components doesn't meticulously label what each component is and for what product it's for? lol. They track every component right down to literally every screw because we can even see a huge surge in the screws and tape for Switch 2, lol. The clock speed is irrelevant to this discussion.

We also see Nintendo's Vietnam facility is taking delivery of tens of thousands (well even more than that) of Switch 2 LCD displays and other major Switch 2 components you would need. In June 2024 they were only receiving about 1100 of the screen, it has increased by 60x+ for August and has gone up even further afterwards.

I dunno, but that looks to me like a ramp up for production.

People also need to understand the difference between "rumor", as in a story ran on a gaming site or forum and "leak". These are two different things, a rumor anyone can make up, leaks like the Nvidia hack and shipping/customs manifests are things that not just made up, they are things perhaps that are not supposed to be shared with the public that end up leaking out. Rumors and "leaks" are not necessarily the same thing.

Mass production has likely not begun as of August 2024 because we don't see shipments out from HVBG, but it looks like mass production is about to begin. Which is significant, if they are beginning mass production or even trial production this year, then the release date is probably not as far off as some people have been speculating.

Just like all those switch pro leaks...  oh wait, nevermind.

There are no cross verifiable Switch Pro hardware leak. The Nvidia leak only shows a Tegra T214 and T239 I believe, T214 is the Mariko/OLED/Lite chip.

If there was a Switch Pro it was either supposed to be the T214 (OLED mostly likely) just clocked higher or Nintendo killed it in the early prototype stages and never showed up in any Nvidia side doc.

The Nintendo Alarmo just "leaked" when Nintendo filed a product with the FCC that had a 24 GHz wireless sensor and had a model number of CLO-001, so distinct and separate for anything else Nintendo makes.

All I know is I was promised a Pro.  I was promised WWHD.  I was promised TPHD.  I was promised prime trilogy.

I'll wait for confirmation.  Leaks don't always pan out.

And Perma is right.  Chipset, even if correct, doesn't say much.  We need way more details to have an accurate picture.

You're again confusing rumors for leaks.

Nintendo production facilities receiving shipments of Switch 2 components in rising quantities is significant. The chipset stuff we knew like 2 years ago, that's old information at this point. It's the fact that that Switch 2 chip, LCD screens, motherboards, etc. are starting to be shipped in high quantities to the manufacturing point for Switch in Vietnam that is notable.

That changed as of August 2024 and we only found this out in like late September/early October, before that shipments of Switch 2 components were small. So this is new information, it points to trial production perhaps already starting and mass production possible in November/December. We'll just have to wait and see what the shipment/customs info says for Oct/Nov/Dec.

I think january 2025 is the earliest, but i wouldn't even be surprised to see it in march 2025. February, i don't know why but i don't think so. 2 possibilities:

1.) Jauary teaser, March showcase, may- july launch

2.) March teaser, may- july showcase, september- december release

Outside chance: Nintendo will show nothing at all this FY because they changed their plans and go out with a summer teaser, a late 2025 showcase (won't hurt them because Switch sales should be clearly below 10 million in 2025 Switch Up or not) and a march 2026 release.

No1 - yes, I'd say 99% that's the schedule. Likely the only reason they aren't revealing it until January (or maybe at latest Feb, but that seems unlikely cuz at that point there is no reason to wait) is to not hurt Switch holiday sales. And the only reason people are suggesting now that it won't release until later in the year is because for some reason people got it in their heads that a Spring launch requires a Fall reveal, regardless of the fact that it would hurt Switch holiday sales.

No2 - no way, unless Nintendo really screwed up and development of their launch games has been going very badly. Not being able to launch the system until late in the year would be a huge blunder by Nintendo. And I don't see any reason to think that will be the case, considering we already know they are revealing the system in the first three months of the year.

Outside chance: zero chance. They were planning to launch it this holiday season but the launch games weren't ready to go, no way they are over a year behind on the games. Switch 2 will have 15+ million sales by March 2026.

I really wouldn't rule out anything anymore. Remember the high self estem, with wich people swore it would launch in march 2023 (because Nintendo always replaces its systems after 6 years blablabla...)? The same went for every quater till this one. March 2025 was the earliest possible launchdate from the beginning. Nintendo said numerous times that Switch will stay without a sucessor longer than any other Nintendo CONSOLE before. So the NES was replaced after 7 years. That basically excluded a release before summer 2024 from 2019 when they said that. I think it was never planed to release Switch Up before 2025, only this Switch Pro at the end of 2021 wich was canned. Some years ago, who would have thought that my original prediction from early 2019 (march 2025) would be the absolute earliest possible release date, not the latest?! Switch will sell under 10 million next year Switch Up or not, even if they,'ll hit their original FC (13,50 million) the possibility would be there.

I can't believe people still think the S2 is getting announced in 2024. It ain't happening folks. It is mid November and December is a huge sales month. Announcement now would hurt sales. Sometimes life is just this simple.

Chrkeller is perma-banned? What did he do? This forum becomes tinier for every passing day.

From what I can tell he asked to be perma-banned so at least for now doesn't wanna take part in the forums any more.

Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed one day before Black Friday, just to really make sure consumers are as hesistent as possible before investing $300 into a NSW system. Mark my words!
