I know this is reeeaaally unlikely, but ....

If they ever are in the idea of ... Making a port for the Switch 2 in the future, even though this is clearly a title screaming PS5 in everyone's faces. I sure would give it a good wack 👌

This game to me mirrors a lot of the Kirby charm in some aspects !

We would need to see it's specs first before thinking of that. Even if they could squeeze it on would probably only run at 30fps and people don't like 30fps.

I don't think the Nintendo crowd would mind that much though. Many of the best titles on Switch are exclusively 30fps and sell a lot of units.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Is it possible we finally have a 3D platformer that can win GotY? I’m really hoping so.

edit: I just looked at OC, and apparently Astro Bot is currently the 8th most critically acclaimed game of all time. It’ll definitely drop as time passes (as do all games), though it’s still an incredible statistic.

Chances for Switch 2 are likely zero, but I can see it getting a PC port eventually

It's pretty much guaranteed to win. It Takes Two is a platformer that won GOTY at 88 Metacritic, while Odyssey only lost because it had BotW to contend with. Metaphor could be another 90+ game, this means that Rebirth and Metaphor will steal from each other's votes due to both being JRPGs appealing to similar-ish fanbases. I'm already feeling bad for SquareEnix.

This leaves Zelda which I feel would need to score about 95+ to have a chance, because it's a small budget 2D title. Finally, Dragon Age could be a huge surprise and Bioware's redemption!!! (not happening).

And I'm not sure if AstroBot will drop in score, because so far it's been climbing from 89 through 93 and 94 to now 95 on Opencritic. The insanity is it's tying Elden Ring there at the moment!

This game is awesome, it reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy 2 with every level having different mechanics. 94 is a well deserved metascore

I don't think it's coming to the Switch 2. A PC version would be kinda weird since it's a showcase of the Dualsense features and Astrobot literally lives inside a PS5 in the game, but eh. A port is probably going to happen in one or two years.

I finished the first Galaxy last night, awesome game!

It plays so well, so creative, so colorful, I love all the little details. It deserves goty if it keeps going like the first Galaxy. I got close to 60 of 300 bots so far, all pure fun to find. I still think it should have been possible as a Hybrid VR game, actual 3D perspective makes platforming a lot easier. But by focusing on just one mode, Asobi delivered a pretty much flawless game. Looks stunning, locked 60 fps with very clean visuals. It all loads very fast as well, absolute joy to play.

Btw, I've been reading some reviews in order to see how is the soundtrack... And to my surprise, almost none of them even mentions that aspect of the game. And if they do, it's to point out that there are classic PS characters remixed tunes. But nothing on the actual Astrobot soundtrack.

Could some of you picking the game give some thoughts on it when you play it? I'm a sucker for music in videogames, it's one of my most important aspects...

I know you already got answered, but after finishing the first galaxy I have to say, the music is ok, it's charming but is not something I'm catching myself paying much attention to, more of a background thing, it's not like a Sonic game where it immediatly feels awesome and you keep thinking about it while playing.

So, I've playing a bit more than the first galaxy and the game is awesome, it's gorgeous, a lot of fun, and the other games bot cameos are great, specially the special one after the boss.

The game has a mix of Nintendo platforms all over it, specially Mario Galaxy, 3D World, Kirby and a bit of Donkey Kong too.

It's surpassing all my expectations, to me it's already GOTY over Tekken 8 (have not played FF7 Rebirth), but I still doubt it will have the power to get the most awards in the end of the year.

Also #1 in Brazil.
Nice to see. I hope it does really well.
