Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Best Xbox console

I think the best is...

OG Xbox 8 19.51%

Xbox 360 31 75.61%

Xbox One 0 0%

Xbox Series 2 4.88%

Total:41

For me it's Xbox 360 > OG Xbox > Xbox Series > Xbox One. Xbox Series could potentially move up if the upcoming lineup lives up to the hype. Mind you this is ignoring whether these 1st party games are console exclusive or not.

I'm going with the Xbox 360.

Or more specifically... The Xbox 360 S... It resolved the RROD issue for the most part, HDD space was getting cheap, integrated wifi and hdmi, it was a quieter running console... It was smaller.

And when it came out, it had a very strong games library of exclusives... And had a huge multiplatform library.

Halo 3 was probably one of the biggest "events" for the 7th gen in terms of cultural impact.

Seriously, there must be one you hate the least? What's you favorite Xbox game ever?

lol

I only played Halo 1 and 2, didn't like either of them but Halo 2 was much better than the boring open land emptiness that is Halo 1

BTW, it not just hate it also immoral to support a corrupt corporation that practice anti consumer, anticompetitive, hostile take overs, satanists and tax evasion. And research on evil (bill) gates

Halo 1 wasn't open.

Satanist?
Bill gates is evil?

Wut. Seems like you have a bee in your bonnet.
I think this is not the thread for you.

Xbox 360 for sure, followed by the original. Those were the only two that felt like they had a "soul" to me. I've never owned an Xbox but I almost bought a 360 after I played Bioshock. I passed though because I knew already that it was coming to the PS3, which I was getting eventually.

The Xbox One really turned me of to the brand I think and there's just nothing that excites me about Xbox Series; Starfield and Hellblade 2 were busts, so we'll have to see if Perfect Dark can deliver on how amazing that trailer made it look. And perhaps Sony's Astro Bot will encourage Microsoft/Rare to do something awesome with Banjo? Here's hoping.

Ouch. Xbox One doesn't even have one vote. I think that's for a few reasons
-The underpowered Xbox One. Yeah, it was a generational leap over the Xbox 360. But the 360 was way more comparable to Gaming PCs in 2005 than the One was to Gaming PCs in 2013 (same dynamic with PS3 in 2006 and PS4 in 2013). Xbox One X fixed this, but it's not the base console and was sold as a premium offering.
-Xbox Series X/S are very similar to Xbox One but with SSDs, better specs (namely Xbox One vs. Series X) and a larger game library. It's only some Kinect 2.0 Xbox One games that aren't compatible with Xbox Series.

Yeah not a single vote for the Xbone is quite telling.

I'd be interested in hearing from the two folks for voted for the Xbox Series though.

I'd wager

1. It's the only Xbox console they own, or they only ever had an Xbox One and not the older two and most beloved Xbox consoles.

2. Even if they've had several or all Xbox consoles, they like the general power, SSDs, four generations (but more like 2.5 because you've got about two full generations plus a little Xbox plus around a third or more of the 360 generation) of games supported.

Unless you like using Kinect 2.0, Xbox One is pretty worthless besides being cheaper compared to a Series X.

Series X (and a little bit of Series S despite its lack of a disc drive and lower specs) are pretty much a Swiss Army Knife for the Xbox ecosystem, but not really a unique platform. Nothing is exclusive to Series X/S, not even indie titles. Even Xbox One still has about a dozen exclusives (the non-Kinect ones you can play on Series) and there were over a dozen more that were launched without confirmation that a PC version was coming.

The original for me personally. It just feels more " distinct " than the other generations in a cool way. Like the chungus controllers, the tankish design of the console itself with the X ontop, the ambient UI, etc.

Yeah the OG Xbox has a strong sense of identity, with everything from the design of the console to the UI to the games feeling very "hardcore", powerful, and premium.

This is something that's very much missing from Xbone and Xbox Series which by contrast feel rather bland.

Xbox One S is the only one I've owned, so I would go for that. I'm guessing the 360 was the actual best console, but I didn't play it other than a little bit at friends houses.

360, and it is not close.
