Damn, I keep thinking of more amazing classics that I would love to see get the modern treatment:

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

There are so many old PC games that would have great potential. The old Bullfrog games for example but we got Two point Hospital and there was an attempt at a spiritual successor to Dungeon keeper with War in the over world. That's better than nothing.

They showed quite a bit of gameplay that was not possible in the original, so it's definitely been enhanced to be more in line with MGSV's combat and movement. Probably more advanced than that even.

As for why they chose to start with MGS3, I believe they go over that in this interview with David Hayter.

Wow, so the movement is not 100% faithful. That's great, since MGS3 can be quite clunky at times.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Konami ends up remaking the entire mainline series. Similar to what Capcom is doing with Resident Evil. Canonically, MGS3 is the first game in the series, so to Konami it would make the most sense to start there and canonically, the second mainline entry would be MGS1. Which a remake has been heavily rumored to be in development for some time now.

Rumor Claims Original Metal Gear Solid Is Getting a Remake (gamerant.com)

Unless Konami decides to remaster both MGS5 games after Snake Eater lol, which I really don't think would be necessary anyway. The games still look fantastic even by todays standards!

Skies of Arcadia. There is so much potential for a well crafted remake. Plus, we just don't get enough 3D turn based RPGs anymore.

To the privileged, equality feels like oppression.

Rumors so far, but until its 100% confirmed.......Final Fantasy IX (and keep the option to add coop like the original)

Absolutely! From Ultima or even Wing Commander and the Star Wars Tie Fighter games. We need joystick games to make a come back!!

I'll never forget this bad boy when Microsoft made some of the best gaming peripherals! Force feedback features decades before becoming mainstream lol

Little secret. The Wii version practically is a remake. Most of it had to be remade for Wii as a lot of the source code was gone. So all the HD ports are based on that for lack of a better term. Remake. I don't think it needs one tbh. It's great as is in HD.
