Honestly... if anyone's mind is changed because of this... fuck em.

Trump began his campaign by demonizing Mexicans. He retweeted racist lies about black people. Tried to ban muslims. Called people marching in nazi garb very fine people. Openly mocked the disabled. Made up racist lies about Hatiian immigrants.

So, if you're a Puerto Rican who was still considering voting for Trump... you were ok with all of that. But now that it's your group under attack, it's a problem?

I'm glad they'll be making the right choices, but it shouldn't have taken this long to make it personal. Should have been personal the first time Trump tried to stoke hatred.

The fact this is even close when Trump is such a dumpster fire shows how many folks feel alienated by the left, and represents a failure by the Dems to connect with a large swathe of the population.

Trump is awful, but when you can't convince a comfortable majority of the population that you're a better choice, then you've got problems of your own.

Your whole country's history is one of immigration, but I do wonder if all the white people you have there even know that they all are either descendants of immigrants or rather recent immigrants themselves. There is no such thing as a native white American, after all.

Tell that to the Mormons, lol.

They'd tell you that their religion was founded by a white guy in New York about half a century after America officially became a nation.

You are assuming that people are informed and reasonable. That is not a safe assumption.

I really don’t think that’s it.

One aspect is the media, the right has a propaganda machine that praises everything Trump does while bashing and lying about everything democrats do. The mainstream media may lean somewhat to the left but and after years of being criticized as the “liberal media”, they treat Trump with kids gloves while having significantly higher expectations for Democrats. Case in point, compare the coverage of Biden’s age or Harris’ policies to Trump’s age & policies.

Another major factor is that many people simply don’t understand or pay attention to anything politics or economics related. Their vote can be as simple as, “gas and groceries were cheaper when Trump was president so I’m voting or him.”

Then there is the sad reality that many people in this country are simply sexist, racist & transphobic. It doesn’t matter what Harris or democrats support, they don’t want brown people coming into the country, they want to control women’s bodies and they don’t want transgender people to exist.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

If group A was promising to give everyone $500,000 and group B was promising to give half of the population $1,000,000.

Is it group A's fault that those certain people are favoring group B?

Group A is arguably better for society as a whole, but group B is going to be more appealing to that certain half of the population. I don't think that's an inherent failing of group A. I think it's a failing of the half of the population that would rather benefit more at the cost of the other half, and not a failing of group A.

Exactly.  Well said.

Alternatively, it is Trump's fault that we had to deal with a senile old man for 4 years. And probably have to deal with a not so ideal Kamala Harris.

If the Republicans could come up with a decent candidate then we wouldn't have had such bad Democrat candidates.

It’s also Trump’s fault we’ve had these insanely high prices on everything. People are like “gas and groceries were cheaper under Trump” yet are blind to the fact that his bungling of the Covid pandemic (that he called a hoax, I remind you) caused all these production shortages, which is why we’re seeing the price-gouging we are now. Kamala already said she plans to fight that (but she needs a House flip and Senate retention to make it happen, so vote down ticket), Trump will just raise prices even higher with corporate taxes on imported goods.

It reminds me of that meme that was made after the vaccine went out:
