Sonic Team as much as it kills me. Or whoever is making the Sonic games now.

WoW, oddly enough there are still a lot of people that hold them in high regard.

No. People hold Sonic in high regard because as far as mascots go he's 100% awesome.

Sadly, as awesome as Sonic is, his awesomeness alone can't save crappy games.

Thank you. Sonic Team were my child hood heroes. Sonic games untill Sonic adventure and Nights. Ihear the new nights game is abit average too.

Nintendo...

Kinda getting tired of the constant "99%!!!!! WOWOWOW MARIO ZELDA!!!!!" Nintendo reviews for games that I've played 10 years on on N64 and 5 years ago on gamecube.

@WoW:  Oh fully agreed which is why they're so high on my overrated list.

Bungie - Honestly, what have they done besides Halo?

Good God, man. How long have you been gaming?

Oni (mediocre), Marathon (awesome), Myth (awesome), amongst others.

I like Oni better than Halo. I'd love for them to revive that IP.

I'm gonna go with a tie between Bethesda, Squeenix, and Rockstar Games.

Bungie no longer owns the Oni IP. I think either EA or 2K does. Can't remember exactly.

Really? How did that happen?

Not entirely sure. Just checked, it's 2K. Rockstar published the game and IIRC, when MS bought Bungie some IP shifted hands. I can't be sure if that's how it went down, though.

Haha, you're gonna find this amusing, But I don't actually play many computer games.

I have played Oni, but I have never heard of the other two.

Ah, okay. I just checked, you're quite a bit younger than me. Marathon was an underrated FPS series (because it always debuted on Mac) that introduced dual-wielding, mouse-look, and a few other innovations to the genre. Awesome stuff.

Myth was an excellent RTS series in the 90s.

Rockstar by far. Grand Theft Auto is the most overrated series ever. San Andreas sold about 15 million copies. There are a lot of better games out there that are fully made and deliver on all accounts and not just on open ended gameplay.

epic as a developer they didn't make even one good game since jazz jackrabbit.
bethesda because The Elder Scrolls series(without oblivion) and Echelon they didn't make any other good game.

They basically created an entirely new (and massively popular) genre just 6 years ago. Other developers are still playing catchup and by all acounts, GTA IV is going to set the bar even higher and make it harder for others to keep up.

Do they deserve 15m in sales for San Andreas? Maybe, maybe not. It didn't really push the envelope far enough past GTA III IMO. Are they overrated? Hell no.

BTW, I'll throw my hat in on a developer no one has mentioned in the thread:

id software. What have they done in the past decade?
