will pigs evolve wings and become airborn?

Isn’t 39% down significantly better than worldwide?

I've done the math. Our estimates on VGC has Xbox Series at 456.5K for 2024. 39% drop would be 278.5K for 2025. We have sales in 2024 so far at 226.6K, leaving 51.9K for December. That would be a 43% drop for the month compared to December 2024. Overall it seems like our estimates are pretty good for Xbox in UK.

Hopefully Chris gives some PS5 figures next.

Yes. UK will be one of the places it's dropped the least. Japan for example is down around 75% and the drop in mainland Europe is sure to be much higher than the UK too.

Worse than any year of the original Xbox is really not good considering that system barely outsold the Gamecube, but what else is new.

That last 1.9m is gonna be like crawling a mile through broken glass.

That is optimistic.
With ram prices likely being crazy for all of 2026 and 2027..... launching a new console is gonna be pricey.

From the sound of things the next Xbox is gonna be an expensive premium device so it was probably already gonna be a pricey niche product. Cause of that I could see them launching in late 2027 anyway and just lowering the price once things settle.

That 1200$ rumored price, with like +300$ extra for the ram increase..... is gonna be 1500$+ unit.
You launch a 1500$ console and see how that sells.

It will obviously be advertised as an "XBox Gaming PC" or somesuch. Even $1500 is a stretch. I was looking for finally replacing my 25(?) year old PC with a $2500 gaming PC. It was never in stock in the past weeks and is now advertised with a new $3300 price label...

Oh yeah if it's over 1k it'll sell less than 10m for sure. It's just since they've clearly given up on trying to sell a console to the masses they'll expect and be fine with that.
