I re-read Blood of Elves and Time of Contempt this weekend. Both are quick reads books. Blood of Elves if you're looking for something low-stakes, comfortable, and relatively low on plot elements - that's why skipped over Last Wish and Sword of Destiny (I've re-read both of those multiple times in the past few years thanks to the Witcher Netflix series, which I watched alongside the books). But I had to go into Time of Contempt, and while I didn't finish it, I got up to Chapter 5, close to finishing.

On the fantasy discussion. I've read dozens, if not hundreds, of fantasy books, and Tolkien is easily my favourite author; my personal favourite book is The Book of Lost Tales, but I enjoy almost every version of the Silmarillion... the Lays would be the exception. that said, I also really enjoy Robert E Howard.

Any joe lansdale fans here? I used to go to his martial arts school.  JL wrote the script for a bruce campbell movie called bubba hotep that was shot and set in our little town. My girlfriend got to interview him for an article that she wrote.   

It is next in line after I finish the Swedish post apocalyptic book series "Virus" that I'm currently reading, or rather listens to. 

I highly recommend Tender is the Flesh.... One of the most skin crawling, eerie books I have ever experienced.

Just finished "Wrath" by John Gwynne the other day. It's the worst in the series by far, Gwynne's weaknesses shine through and become very visible in this one. I did still enjoy it though, as well as the series as a whole. I'm starting "King of Thorns" by Mark Lawrence tonight, absolutely loved "Prince of Thorns", never felt like this about an MC before in my life.
