switch is the best when it comes to exclusive games, but it loses a lot in third party games, so I vote for the ps5 for spider man, re4, ds, cod, bg3 goty, alan wake 2, ff16, sf6, which ones in my opinion It has more weight than this year's Nintendo games

Just letting you know that Spider-Man 2 is a First Party game. Resident Evil 4, Dead Space, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Baldur's Gate 3, Alan Wake II, and Street Fighter 6 all came out on PS5, Xbox Series, PC (BG3 was PC exclusive). And Final Fantasy XVI is the only third party exclusive to PS5.

So we have 2 exclusives, that you mentioned (70+ exclusives total for 2023 on PS5) vs 120+ exclusive on Switch (including Tears of the Kingdom & Mario Wonder). I wouldn't call that a loss for Nintendo, it had 50+ more game releases on Switch than PS5.

Why does Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy XVI hold more weight than Tears of the Kingdom & Mario Wonder?
All four were amazing games.

You should changed the title to console with best exclusive games 2023. Why shouldn't 3rd party multiplatform games count? If I only have a PS5 and switch and can only play these 3rd party games on PS5 then its good enough to think PS5 was better in 2023 since they probably spent more time playing their PS5

He's not saying SM2 and FFXVI hold more weight than ToTK and Mario. He's saying Switch missed out on most of the biggest games of the year.

Streetfighter 6, Assassins Creed Mirage, Lies of P, Armoured Core 6, Dead Space, Diablo 4, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Resident Evil 4, Alan Wake 2, Baldurs Gate 3, Dead Island 2, Atomic Heart, Call of Duty, Like a Dragon Gaiden, WRC, Avatar, The Crew Motorfest, Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty.

And for the best selling game of the year (hogwarts) it got it very late and with many sacrifices.

It's a valid reason to put PS5 over Switch in 2023 if you value these titles and you're not going to play them on PC/Xbox.

I think a lot of it comes down to what kind of games you like.

Switch misses most of the big AAA blockbusters, but on the other hand, PS5 misses out on Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Wonder, Pikmin 4, Dave the Diver, Vampire Survivors, Metroid Prime Remastered, Fire Emblem Engage, Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince, Bayonetta Origins, Suika Game, F-Zero 99, Cassette Beasts, Disney Illusion Island, Fae Farm, Gunbrella...

Which games one prefers is up to personal preference so a valid case can be made for either.

PS5.
Spider man-2 ,FF16 and Horizon Burning shores Expansion, PSVR2- Horizon call of the mountain and GT7 VR

no i wont. The title is exactly what it is meant to be. To discuss, and declare what was the best console from 2023. If a 3rd Party game sold more on one console then the other it shows how good/loved the console that sold the more 3rd party games. (I hope that made sense). This is a contest.
3rd Party counts, I was just letting the comment I quoted know that those 3rd party games he listed arent 1st party, and were on multiple consoles, so you would have to compare each game on each console to see which was better, and how much each version sold, etc...
This is all about preference, and I just want to understand people's preference, like the question I asked "Why does Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy XVI hold more weight than Tears of the Kingdom & Mario Wonder?" I asked that cause I can own an Xbox Series X and play the other 3rd party games mentioned, i just want to understand the difference.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 160 million (was 120 million, then 140 million, then 150 million)

PS5: 130 million (was 124 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 54 million (was 60 million, then 57 million)

Read his comment again. He knows those were 3rd party games. I still don't know what you are trying to say. If 3rd party counts then whats with the but these aren't 1st party or exclusive. 3rd party is the big reason why PlayStation is great and Xbox is still relevant

Thanks, that's better said than "it has more weight". Yes true Nintendo usually misses the biggest 3rd Party AAA titles.
Nintendo did get a lot of other really great AAA titles (and not focusing on the quality of the game on the Switch, because most were rather awful for the company doesn't know how to optimize their games on Switch), like Hogwarts Legacy (helping it secure best selling game of the year).

And most of those games were also on Xbox Series and PC, so why does PS5 become #1 with most of the library having the same games with other consoles.
If you own only a PS5 then of course im getting those games on the PS5, but if I would a PC, a PS5, a Switch, and a Xbox Series what am I most likely gonna play on? It depends on preference. I just like to get some concrete knowledge. Facts are stronger than feelings, but they do play a part in the gaming community, hence why Switch has been selling for as long and good as it has been, and why Xbox has been suffering.

I read it as, these are ps5 3rd party games. So I wanted to know why it hold more weight than this years Nintendo games, and I was comparing the only 2 first party games that were listed to 2 of Nintendo's first party games. Would it have been better if I compared the 3rd party releases for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC (Steam Deck) to 3rd party releases on Switch?

All those games he mentioned it seems like he prefers the big AAA blockbuster 3rd party games over Nintendo's 3rd party games . And he probably played them on PS5 why he voted PS5

If we are talking exclusives, then I think Switch owners had the best year by a lot. When it comes to other two.. well, let's see..
