Forums - Gaming - Which system made the biggest comeback? PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch?

WiiU --> Switch, delta = +119.35M (and growing)
PS3 --> PS4, delta = +29.77M

The difference between WiiU and Switch is bigger than total PS4 sales. Even if you compare it to 3DS, that's +56.97M. Damn, compare it to Wii and with +31.28M it's still more than PS3 to PS4. Only Kim Kardashian had a better comeback ;)

The only way we could consider the PS4 as a comeback would be in financial terms, as the PS3 cost Sony quite a bit of money. But since Nintendo was also losing money at the time with the Wii U and 3DS pricecut, that equalizes the two consoles on that front.

So, it's the Switch by default for me.

If we lump 3DS with Wii U then do you lump up PSP with PS3 and Vita with PS4? Then PS4 and Vita didn't come back but lost market share. 82 million PSPs to 14 million or so Vita's?

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

What kind of a question is this. PS3 is one of the top 10 selling consoles of all time. Also the Switch is current gen and is up against the PS5 and has a very healthy lead is sales right now.

This isn't even a question.

From those two, the Switch. The biggest comeback however imo was the Xbox 360.

Comeback? Original XBox was only produced for 4 years (not even) and a new console lol. You got to go down first before making a comeback! Series was supposed to make a comeback on XOne.

One could argue that the orginal Xbox was still a failure sales wise, it definitely did not do what the PS1 did. However the Xbox 360 cemented Xbox is place as a real contender for Playstation. Something Nintendo wasn't able to do for over a decade in the same time frame for home consoles.

PS3 did like over 6x what WiiU did sales wise so definitely Switch

Some of the post in here are riducolous, yes Switch was the bigger comeback but op has a point about PS3. First off, it wasn't a success lol, how the PS3 is spun as a success by some of the post in here are ludicrous. Selling 90 million means nothing if you cost your business that much money. It was definitely not a success, some of the takes in here honestly could be used to paint WiiU as a success lol. Switch is the bigger success because it's in route to becoming Nintendo's biggest success and is coming off of Nintendo's arguebly biggest failure.
