Probably sarcasm?

Yet the islamic European countries are

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Kosovo, and Azerbaijan.

Albania officially recognized the Palestinian State in 1988.
Bosnia and Herzegovinain May 1992.
Turkey in 1988.
Kosovo doesn't, yet Palestine doesn't recognize Kosovo either. Kosovo is recognized by 119 nations, less than Palestine.
Azerbaijan in 1992.

It's past time to end the oppression, apartheid, occupation and long ongoing ethic cleansing, then the pointless bloodshed (which is mostly one directional) will have a chance to end.

But you have point that Norway, Ireland, Spain (May 2024), Slovenia (June 2024), Portugal (September 2025), UK, Belgium, Malta, Andorra, Monaco, Luxembourg, France (80th UNGA session) have all waited until their population wouldn't take the ongoing ethnocide any more.

Now the question is, did those countries only do it to try to appease their domestic population, or are they actually going to uphold international law and the genocide conventions next to recognizing Palestinians exist and are their own ethnicity with a right to self governance.

Explosives continue to ‘rain down’ on Gaza City

It was another horrific night for families still stuck in Gaza City. We are getting catastrophic reports from Gaza’s Health Ministry of people killed inside municipality buildings while they slept.

Israeli warplanes are actively raining down explosives on Gaza City’s last standing structures. The death toll is on the rise. The skyline right now is covered with black smoke.

This all reflects the momentum of Israeli ground activities. Yesterday, we received reports that Israeli tanks advanced very close to al-Shifa Hospital, supported by overwhelming firepower from the air.

Three aid seekers killed in southern Gaza as hunger desperation surges

Israeli forces have fired at and killed at least three people seeking aid to the north of Rafah, according to a local ambulance source. Other people were injured in the attack.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed while desperately trying to access food for their families at distribution centres run by the controversial US and Israel-backed GHF, which the UN has condemned for its “weaponisation” of aid.

Field hospitals close in Gaza City with ‘major supply shortages’ elsewhere

Gaza City’s hospitals are on the brink of full collapse as Israel’s ground offensive intensifies. We’ve been told by medical teams that the facilities are operating under constant bombardment.

Health facilities report major shortages of critical supplies, and the amount of fuel left is barely enough to power generators. Many medical teams are being forced to make difficult decisions about who must be treated first and who must leave.

We’ve also received reports that some field hospitals have been forced to leave Gaza City. They’ve started to move their teams and equipment to the south, leaving behind a vulnerable community scrambling to get essential medical care.

Meanwhile, civil defence members and the emergency services say they’re struggling to reach wounded people in bombarded areas because of destroyed roads and heavy shelling. In some cases, wounded people have been brought to hospitals after being carried on foot or on animal-drawn carts.

Gaza death toll since dawn rises to 51 as Israeli bombardment escalates

At least 51 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in the morning hours, including 36 in Gaza City, as Israel ramps up attacks.

Eight desperate people waiting for food at a distribution centre were killed in attacks near Rafah, in southern Gaza, emergency service sources told Al Jazeera.

‘Screaming from nightmares’: Surging amputations for Gaza children

An increasing number of children are suffering serious wounds during escalating Israeli attacks, leading to a surge in amputations, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) says.

Gaza already has the highest number of amputees per capita worldwide, with about 4,000 people losing limbs in Israeli bombardment.

“These are children who have lost limbs who wake up screaming from nightmares, who no longer feel safe even in their own families,” Ciaran Donnelly, IRC’s senior vice president, said in a statement.

“Our teams are doing everything possible to support them, but without safe access and basic supplies, their recovery is at risk of stalling completely.”

In a new survey, the IRC also reported one in three children in Gaza has gone without food for a full day, and only 1 percent of homes in the entire Strip are food secure.

At least 15,600 patients awaiting medical evacuation from Gaza: WHO

At least 15,600 patients, including 3,800 children, are waiting for medical evacuation from Gaza to receive lifesaving care outside the besieged enclave, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) says.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on X that the WHO is supporting the evacuation of patients, stressing the urgent need for access to treatment.

He also welcomed a joint statement issued by 24 foreign ministers, two development ministers and EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib offering support for the treatment of critical patients from Gaza.

Thousands forcibly displaced from north Gaza without any shelter: Civil Defence

Gaza’s Civil Defence reports that many hundreds of families forcibly displaced from northern Gaza after being threatened by the Israeli army to go south are now sleeping on the ground without any shelter.

People do not even have plastic sheets to use as tents, the rescue organisation said, adding that families are financially incapable of buying any supplies that could provide them with some respite.

“We emphasise that the Israeli occupation bears direct responsibility for the tragic conditions in which thousands of displaced people are at risk of death, in grave violation of international humanitarian law,” the group said, calling for international intervention.

Victims trapped under rubble as Gaza ministry reports 37 killed in 24 hours

At least 37 people have been killed over the past 24 hours across Gaza, the Health Ministry says.

Among the dead were four Palestinians who died while rescue teams attempted to pull them from destroyed buildings. At least 175 people were wounded in Israeli strikes with many people still trapped under the debris.

Of the Palestinians killed, the ministry said five died as they attempted to pick up desperately needed food aid. At least 2,531 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces or military contractors in aid-related incidents since June.

Israel claims al-Shifa Hospital used for ‘terrorism’ in potential sign of more attacks

Indicating that more attacks may be directed towards what used to be the largest medical facility in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military says al-Shifa Hospital was used by Hamas gunmen several days ago.

The army released aerial footage it said showed Hamas fighters entering an unspecified building of the hospital and turning it into a “manned terror command centre”, thereby “knowingly endangering the lives of patients, medical staff, and innocent residents”.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health said in a statement that the hospital “continues to operate despite the harsh conditions, and its staff remain committed to their humanitarian mission”.

Only a few buildings remain partially standing and offering limited but lifesaving services with exhausted resources at al-Shifa Hospital after several intense Israeli sieges since the start of the genocidal war in October 2023.

The Israeli military has repeatedly used the justification that it is fighting “terrorism” when destroying or badly damaging almost all medical facilities across Gaza.

Israel bombs major bank branch in Gaza City

Israeli warplanes have bombed the main branch of the Bank of Palestine in eastern Gaza City.

Footage circulating online, verified by Al Jazeera, showed columns of smoke rising and the building turning into rubble in Omar al-Mukhtar Street of the besieged urban centre.

Gaza death toll since dawn jumps to 84

At least 84 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza since dawn, including 50 in Gaza City, according to medical sources speaking to Al Jazeera. At least 11 of the victims were aid seekers in the south of the enclave, the sources said.

Two children among 12 Palestinians killed in Israeli strike in Gaza’s Nuseirat

There’s been another horrifying attack on a place where Palestinians displaced from Gaza City were seeking refuge. This time, it was in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza – in the Al-Ahli stadium, which has been converted into a shelter for displaced people.

At least 12 Palestinians have been killed – among them are seven women and at least two children.

This is not the first time Israeli forces attacked a family that has been recently evacuated from Gaza City. A couple of days ago, a tent in Deir el-Balah was struck, killing a family.

Despite these endless evacuation orders from Israeli forces telling Palestinians to leave Gaza City for the central and southern areas of the Strip, they are still being targeted wherever they go.

Mujahideen Brigades says commander killed along with family in Gaza

An Israeli attack has killed a Gaza-based field commander of the Mujahideen Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement, as well as some of his relatives.

In a statement, the group said it mourned the killing of commander Muahmmad “Abu Hamza” Hajjaj on Tuesday. His death will only “increase our determination to adhere to the path of resistance”, it said.

Armed wing of Hamas claims to have killed Israeli soldiers in Gaza City

Qassam Brigades fighters have targeted two Israeli Merkava tanks with two Yassin 105 missiles, according to Hamas, killing and wounding unidentified number of Israeli soldiers in the Tal al-Hawa area of Gaza City.

Gaza’s largest urban centre is under relentless bombardment as Israel continues a ground invasion to seize the city.

Israel claims most of Gaza City emptied, vows to continue ground offensive

Israeli military chief of staff Eyal Zamir has said that “most of Gaza’s population has already left Gaza City” and that the army “will continue a systematic and thorough advance” into Gaza’s largest urban centre.

Zamir also reiterated Israeli claims that the army is pushing the Palestinian population southward “for their safety” and that it is “ensuring compliance with all security rules”.

These claims are contradicted by findings by human rights experts, including a UN commission of inquiry, which concluded this week that Israel intends to establish permanent control over the Gaza Strip while ensuring a Jewish majority in the occupied West Bank and inside Israel.

Israel’s Gaza assault ‘disproportionate’, says Germany

Germany’s foreign minister, Johann Wadephul, says Israel’s assault in Gaza City is “disproportionate”, adding Berlin is weighing further action against Israel along with other EU partners.

Germany has suspended all military exports to Israel that could be used in Gaza after Israel’s security cabinet approved a plan to take over Gaza City.

Berlin has been one of Israel’s most enthusiastic backers, despite growing pressure on the Western-backed country during the escalating humanitarian emergency in Gaza and soaring casualty figures.

Germany doesn’t plan more moves against Israel over Gaza war

Further sanctions on Israel are “not necessary”, says Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, as Berlin’s position on the war in Gaza continues to drift from its Western allies.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has outlined a package of sanctions on Israel – including ending trade concessions and targeting far-right ministers – in response to the ongoing Israeli genocide.

“We will look at this again next week, but at the moment I believe that we have taken effective measures so far and that further measures are not necessary,” Wadephul told Deutschlandfunk radio.

In early August, Chancellor Merz announced a ban on German arms exports to Israel that could be used in Gaza, justifying the move based on its plan to seize and occupy Gaza City.

While others do so, Germany and Italy continue to oppose an immediate recognition of the state of Palestine, with Wadephul stating the step should be taken after a two-state solution is found.

The foreign minister said unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state “only hardens the Israeli position”.

Germany ratified the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in 1954 and is obliged to do anything it can to stop the genocide. None of this "further sanctions are not necessary" bullshit. The proposed sanctions are woefully inadequate as it is.

Majority of Germans say Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to genocide: Poll

A majority of Germans surveyed say Israel’s attack on Gaza constitutes genocide, according to YouGov polling data released this week.

The survey found 62 percent of respondents consider Israeli military actions as “genocidal” while only 17 percent reject this characterisation. Notably, 21 percent remained undecided on the issue.

The findings expose stark political divisions. Left-leaning parties showed the strongest agreement with the genocide label, with the right much less so.

However, more than half of AfD supporters – despite their typically pro-Israel rhetoric – also agreed a genocide is taking place, 56 percent, though they had the highest outright rejection rate at 24 percent.

Coalition of 25 European nations, Canada press Israel on Gaza medical corridor

A coalition of 25 European countries and Canada have appealed to Israel to restore the route to the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, so medical evacuations from Gaza can be resumed.

A joint statement said there’s “an urgent need to scale up medical treatment of patients from Gaza” as the humanitarian disaster continues to unfold.

The nations said they’re ready to provide “financial contributions, provision of medical staff or equipment needed” for treating tens of thousands of Gaza’s wounded in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Israel must immediately lift restrictions on medicine and medical equipment deliveries to Gaza, fully enable UN humanitarian work, and ensure medical personnel are protected in line with international law, it said.

G7 urges immediate truce in Gaza and humanitarian aid ‘flood’

G7 foreign ministers have reiterated their call for a ceasefire in Gaza and said Israel needs to allow a “flood of humanitarian aid”.

“We stressed the urgency of alleviating the immense suffering of civilians in Gaza through a flood of humanitarian aid and securing the release of all hostages, and we reiterated our call for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas,” the ministers said in a joint statement.

“We unequivocally condemned Hamas including for its brutal and unjustified terror attacks on October 7, 2023. We reiterated that Hamas can have no role in Gaza’s future and must never again be a threat to Israel,” it added.

“We affirmed our readiness to engage with Arab partners on their proposals to chart a way forward on reconstruction in Gaza and build a lasting Israeli-Palestinian peace.”

Israel undermining ceasefire and captive deal negotiations: Analyst

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly called in recent days for the release of the captives held in Gaza, but Sami Al-Arian, a professor at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, says Hamas’s position on the issue remains unchanged – in that it’s prepared to release them in exchange for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons and an end to the war.

They’ve said “they’ll release the captives in exchange for the thousands of Palestinian prisoners but more importantly, the war has to stop and Israel has to withdraw”, Al-Arian told Al Jazeera.

He added that Hamas has on more than one occasion made concessions to allow negotiations to continue, including last week saying it would release half of the remaining captives if Trump could secure a 60-day truce in a letter directed to the US president.

Al-Arian cited a more recent proposal by Trump, which Hamas officials were mulling when they were attacked in Doha by Israel.

“Once Hamas or the resistance says yes, the response from them [Israel] is to withdraw from the negotiations or not respond,” Al-Arian added.

Trump comments on halting Israel’s war on Gaza ‘disingenuous’

President Trump’s positive comments at the UN General Assembly on finally ending Israel’s grisly war on Gaza must be taken cautiously, an analyst says.

Trump met leaders of Arab and Muslim countries on Tuesday, and earlier told the assembly that Israel’s war on Gaza must “stop immediately, we have to negotiate peace”.

“I think it’s a disingenuous statement. I don’t think there’s any proof that he’s given new promises,” Sami Al-Arian from Istanbul Zaim University told Al Jazeera.

“The Americans are not honest brokers, they’ve been dishonest brokers. The Americans are really complicit in this, not just the Israelis.”

Asked if Trump is too weak to stop Israel’s far-right leaders from attacking Gaza, Al-Arian said “that’s a good question”.

“Do they have something against him? Are the Epstein files at work where he’s being extorted? Or is it really unwillingness for him, because he doesn’t want to do anything that would resolve this matter. Or is he totally misinformed?”
