Explosives continue to ‘rain down’ on Gaza City

It was another horrific night for families still stuck in Gaza City. We are getting catastrophic reports from Gaza’s Health Ministry of people killed inside municipality buildings while they slept.

Israeli warplanes are actively raining down explosives on Gaza City’s last standing structures. The death toll is on the rise. The skyline right now is covered with black smoke.

This all reflects the momentum of Israeli ground activities. Yesterday, we received reports that Israeli tanks advanced very close to al-Shifa Hospital, supported by overwhelming firepower from the air.

Three aid seekers killed in southern Gaza as hunger desperation surges

Israeli forces have fired at and killed at least three people seeking aid to the north of Rafah, according to a local ambulance source. Other people were injured in the attack.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed while desperately trying to access food for their families at distribution centres run by the controversial US and Israel-backed GHF, which the UN has condemned for its “weaponisation” of aid.

Field hospitals close in Gaza City with ‘major supply shortages’ elsewhere

Gaza City’s hospitals are on the brink of full collapse as Israel’s ground offensive intensifies. We’ve been told by medical teams that the facilities are operating under constant bombardment.

Health facilities report major shortages of critical supplies, and the amount of fuel left is barely enough to power generators. Many medical teams are being forced to make difficult decisions about who must be treated first and who must leave.

We’ve also received reports that some field hospitals have been forced to leave Gaza City. They’ve started to move their teams and equipment to the south, leaving behind a vulnerable community scrambling to get essential medical care.

Meanwhile, civil defence members and the emergency services say they’re struggling to reach wounded people in bombarded areas because of destroyed roads and heavy shelling. In some cases, wounded people have been brought to hospitals after being carried on foot or on animal-drawn carts.

Gaza death toll since dawn rises to 51 as Israeli bombardment escalates

At least 51 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in the morning hours, including 36 in Gaza City, as Israel ramps up attacks.

Eight desperate people waiting for food at a distribution centre were killed in attacks near Rafah, in southern Gaza, emergency service sources told Al Jazeera.
