no one is saying it looks better than PS5 Pro ... the fact that it's that close is an embarrassment to the PS5/PS5 Pro if anything.

Nah. It's more of a testament to how far mobile tech has come in recent years and how good CDPR is at optimization— often lost art these days. What used to be standard is now suddenly surprising to some. You may as well say Gunstar Heroes on Game Gear makes SEGA Genesis look embarrassing. Sometimes, a good port is just a good port.

But most of the Switch 2 ports are looking good (Street Fighter VI, Hogwarts, etc.). It's not just like Cyberpunk is tapping into some secret tier of performance and these are all just 1st gen titles.

This is what Mortal Kombat 2 looked like on portable systems back in the day, they look and sound like crap compared to the SNES/Genesis versions

And most kids didn't even have a Game Gear back in those days, it had lower sales than the Wii U lol. If you wanted to play a game like Mortal Kombat on the go, the Game Boy version was the one you got (lmao) which isn't even on the same planet as the consoles which were already a big step back from the arcade. Kids today are extremely lucky.

switch 2 is ps4 class hardware in power if people don't care why would they upgrade to ps5 just for faster load times?

Pretty sure it's above PS4. PS4 can't even run Phantom Liberty, the Switch 2 can and even runs it respectably let alone other games that are coming like FF7 Rebirth.

i just posted a video where ps4 has clearly the much better IQ. ps4 is 13 years old so of course they won't bother with it anymore even madden won't be coming out  anymore for ps4.Not mention ps4 is running sf6 1080p native vs switch 2 that's 540p they are in the same class of hardware.

Call me when PS4 gets Phantom Liberty (can't run it) and FF7 Rebirth (can't run it either).

Also as an aside the SNES version of Mortal Kombat 2 bitch slaps the Genesis version, not sure what kool-aid people were drinking trying to claim the Genesis version as better back in those days (Sega's marketing BS).

This is the era where there were actual, meaningful differences between in generation console versions of games unlike today where you have freaking portables running a comparable version of a game to a home console.

Baseless speculation. MK1 came out on switch and not on ps4 does that mean it can't run on ps4? madden is no longer coming on ps4 it's a 13 year system and developers have moved on.

Switch 2 (docked especially) is going to shred the PS4, it will become more and more obvious as time goes on.

I'm more interested in the framerate of Cyberpunk 2077 on the Switch 2 tbh. The PS4 version is probably running at a higher native resolution, but if you hop in a car the framerate just dies. Draw distance, vehicle and NPC density are all terrible. If the Switch 2 version can improve on all of these while running at 540p in a stable 30 fps I'll take it.
