Another great year for me,

Bioshock, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, The Witcher, Penumbra: Overture, Crysis, Super Mario Galaxy, Patapon

One that surprised me the most was Assassin's Creed - yeah, it was not perfect, but it felt so unique at the time. I still prefer those controls over modern ones and approach to stealth over action gameplay.

But this is one of those few years were my favourite and what I think the best game match - Portal was not only great puzzle game, but introduced one of the best villains ever - GLaDOS.

Galaxy is one of the greatest ever, thus it wins 2007 easily.

Super Mario Galaxy, God of War 2, Portal , Bioshock and Uncharted 1 were all great games I played.

My vote goes to Super Mario Galaxy though, hard to top that.

Again a year I haven't played much.

My vote to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, honorary mention to Patapon.

This was a great year for gaming.
I loved both Prime 3 and Bioshock and they'd easily take my vote most other years, but Super Mario Galaxy is one of my favorite games of all time. The Observatory is one of my favorite worlds, the levels are rife with spectacle and creativity, movement is smooth and satisfying, the OST is full of classics. Just a fantastic game all around.

I voted GoW2, the first half it imo is the peak of the series.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Well we had lots of great games this year. Portal God of War 2, Halo 3, Bioshock, and Super Mario Galaxy. And the there was Call of Duty 4... I dunno I thought it was a good game but only good. I couldn't stand the graphics with the ugly piss filter, the multiplayer was fine but didn't have that many game modes and features, I got bored of it fast. The gun sounds were awful. The campaign was good but not exceptional. Maybe an 8/10 game but when I compare it to other shooters like Halo 3 that had beautiful graphics, co-op for different modes, fun maps, awesome campaign that you can play with a friend not to mention the forge mode. COD4 just looks pathetic.

My pick for Game of the year would definitely have to be Super Mario Galaxy. It's just one of the most inventive and fun games Nintendo has ever made. And it still holds up to this day.

The past few years weren't great years for me, so when I clicked on 2007 I wasn't expecting much, but saw Bioshock, Uncharted and Super Mario Galaxy all in the same year along with Metroid Prime 3, Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction, and Heavenly Sword (one of the last games to really impress me with it's graphics) Great year, but I have to go with Mario Galaxy but it's damn tough not to say Bioshock (although we didn't get it til a year or two later on the (PS3) If it was Uncharted 2 that would have won it for me and I'm assuming it will win for me when we do 2009's list.

Was playing mostly FF12 and other 2006 releases this year. However, can't say no to one of the best platformers I've ever played, Super Mario Galaxy.

Played, over time, most on the list, but that tops it for me. I will note that in time it feels to me, Japanese produced work will get fewer over the next few years, outside of Nintendo made. Most of Sony's biggest will be from western studios and it was a def time of shift where online took over and sadly Japan didn't offer the same impact in that market as western developers. Not to say we won't get massive hits.

Hmm, pie.

As much as I enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy and fell in love with The World Ends With You I voted for an Xbox game.
I had fun with Halo 3, but the amount of things that were new and well implemented for online multiplayer was amazing. Hugely influential title that changed online gaming forever.
