Some more clues.

48 (incorrect guesses - Tomb Raider III)
- This iteration of a highly influential title gives you the opportunity to travel to four previously unvisited countries.
- Whilst your journey through the game is mostly random, you’ll always end it by visiting the same three countries.
- The main reason you’re travelling to these countries is to give people a beat down.
- Some of the places you could find yourself having a fight include a dock, a beach, an air force base, and a factory.

47
- The first boss is comically easy if you play the handheld version of this game.
- And the handheld version is what was picked to represent this title on a recently expanded compilation of games from this series.
- There are two other games that share the same title as this, one of which was released in the same year on a more powerful system.
- The game is named after the playable character, who is the mascot for one of the biggest developers in the industry.

I'm just going to try even though I'm not totally sure;

48: Street Fighter III?

47: Sonic the Hedgehog Master System?

47 is correct. 48 is incorrect but close

Alright I just did the thing and the thing was exhausting, these lists are way too hard for me. Or rather than hard, time consuming. And I tried to shake up things a bit, but I just couldnt... too much, I feel very strongly about older games in general I guess. The left a bigger impact on me.

But the hard part is filling the later spots, those 20-30 last spots, cause I have like 75-100 games, give or take, that I think have good enough reason to make my top50, so its always tricky. Like, I know certain games meant a lot to me or I enjoyed them a lot, or invested a lot of time in them, but still dont make the list.

Sort of, but would need a bit more detail than that.

Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, released in 1991 for Arcade and in 1992 for the SNES? lol

Haha, no, still not exactly correct. Right game, but a later version. We could have a back and forth with this, but you're basically there. It's Super Street Fighter II. The four new countries clue (England, Jamaica, Mexico, Hong Kong) was a reference to where you fight the four new characters, and the three countries you always end the game with are where you fight the bosses (USA, Spain, and Thailand).

The old zones are still the best :) Although I haven't played it since 15 years ago.
And most of what I remember of it is all at night time, since the day/night cycle was synchronized with the real time and we always played in the evening. It would be a rare weekend occasion to see the sun in WoW.

Ah I see it now, I read that wrong, I assumed you were looking for the sequel because of the 'previously', but I forgot that there are just more versions of SFII.

Extra hints for these two. The other three have already been guessed;

#44: Some releases of this game feature the anthem of rather shady real-life government.
Hint 2: There's plenty of imagery concerning this government, in particular a certain emblem. It caused the game to be banned in at least the country where this emblem causes a fair bit of shame these days. Guessed by Machina - Wolfenstein 3D
#43: Better to follow [his] lead and do as [he] says.
Hint 2: Because otherwise you'll surely crash your confiscated enemy fighter right into the cliffside.
