What a great day. The original FF is certainly a good game, but PS was truly ahead of its time

Phantasy Star was one of the most important RPGs in history, in terms of shaping and popularizing the genre.

Congrats to Phantasy Star - loved its combination of swords & sorcery with space travel and laser guns. Graphically amazing for an 8-bit game too, with very impressive looking first person in the dungeons. And the QoL features in the Switch version are extremely helpful, with the dungeon maps fully presented and charted just like we had to do ourselves by hand on graph paper back in the day.
