Tropical Freeze has sold nearly 5 million? Do those numbers include the Wii U version?

I also read on Twitter FE Echoes: SoV made it to 1 million!

We are really due for another one then. I mean Kirby doesnt reach those numbers and that franchise seems like its getting a game every 6 months...

Yeah I would definitely expect a new DK game in 2024 on Switch, or at latest an early game on Switch 2 in 2025. I could definitely see DK being one of the final major IP games on Switch before the successor comes out.

That's because Kirby is made by HAL Laboratory, a company that almost exclusively work on Kirby. Donkey Kong Country however, is developed by Retro Studios, which is a company that have been very busy developing a Metroid game.

Just get another team to do it.

I don't think giving an IP to a new team is something Nintendo does lightly. It's hard to find a team that can make a Donkey Kong Country game as good as the ones that Retro made. It would be a lot easier for them to just wait until Metroid is finished and then maybe let them develop the next DKC game.
