Forums - Sony - Sony First Party top sellers (Since 2010)

They are good sellers, but they need to invest more in other kind of games. At this point I feel like their first party as cannibalizing themselves because many of them sells to the same pool of gamers

There are exceptions of course, like Gran Turismo, but they need FPS, platformers, fighting games, RPGs, etc

I'd say they are not doing so bad when it comes to platformers so far this gen (Astro's Playroom, Ratchet and clank rift apart and Sackboy).

Newly acquired studios in Bungie, Haven and Firewalk are most likely developing First person Shooters.

They are definitely lacking when it comes to Fighting games and RPGs

Nice to see The Last Of Us 2 at 10M. Would really like a 3rd one.

I've only listed games that sold over 8 million copies.

Ratchet and clank series has sold over 26 million copies as of june 2013.

Ratchet and clank Rift apart has sold 1.1 million copies in one month.

Little big planet 1 has sold over 4 million copies.

That's all the data i could find on those two Franchises.

that imformation is very outdated LBP 1 sold either 5 or 8 million and the best selling ratchet and clank is over 4 million

"Sony first party top sellers (since 2010)" LBP 1 released in 2008

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

May be ambitious, but I wonder if GT7 will be able to hit the 10 million mark by fiscal year's end, and whether GT Sport ever will. GTS jumped from 9.5 million players in Feb 2021 to 14 million in Feb 2022, so I imagine it's fairly close to clearing 10 million sold. 8 million is the floor I think.

GT7 is far more successful, especially in dollar sales. With a PC version down the road, I can see it beating GT3 to become the best selling game in the series.

Spider-Man is probably at well above 25 million at this point when counting the PC version and Miles Morales Ultimate. May be at 30 million even.

Overall, Sony games popularity blew up in the 2nd half of PS4's life, but their sales on consoles considerably declined after PS5's launch. Strong results still all things considered (Services growing, slow generational transition, PC support, game prices, etc).

I wonder if GT7 will be able to get closer to past ones on sales.
It's a pretty damn good game, even if the "story mode" is not really that good.
The PSVR2 mode was also extremely well received from what I saw, but that hardly matters to its overall sales.

Woah, I come to comment on GT7 sales and as soon as the post goes in I see the one right before it (yours) was about the same thing xD
