I agree with everyone who said has dropped off because of the lack of real console wars. I remember when I first started coming here people cared so much more about their console of choice. I remember when Chad Warden made that ps triple video and people lost their shit. Including me haha. Good times.

Don't forget (he has also made one for PS4 and PS5)

I wasn't talking about that one lol. I meant this guy

I know. I said don't forget him as this guy was also famous back then and the PS3 video upset people not knowing it was a joke much like Chad Warden was a joke.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

I don’t think it’s the main reason but the site is essentially unusable on mobile.

Oh I see. I'm dumb. But yeah I don't even remember that guy that you posted. Pretty funny though.

Less interest in forums, less transparency in sales data which is the whole reason the site exists.

Also the site is frankly terrible on mobile devices, which is what most people use to navigate the internet. Also bad SEO, as the only time I'll ever hear about the site when I'm not looking at it is from someone on Twitter who already knew the site existed, which isn't often.

It's the ads that fuck up everything. Without the ads it's perfectly readable.

Signature goes here!

With my gaming PC out of commission since 2020 I am primarily a PS gamer now, and there seems to be a massive decrease in activity from the PS fan base (actually there doesn't seem to be a PS fanbase on the forums anymore lol). I am not even talking about console wars but just not much activity at all for anything PS related. Can't quire remember which game it was but there wasn't even an official review thread. Theres still the big PS nation thread, but not a fan of those.

Also as others have mentioned a lot of the the discussion has shifted to the comments section of articles, and for some reason there is almost zero tolerance for any opinions that doesn't join whatever mob is actively downvoting in that comment section. The dislike button is pretty toxic. The responses feel hostile as well, no matter what you post.

To compensate for this I've been lurking on neogaf...which has a massive community and covers everything (lots of fanboys but you will find the level headed takes sprinkled in between). I dont see this as a replacement for this community though because its waay too big.

Nothing's wrong with the forums. ^^

Famitsu threads became more lively because global sales only come out monthly since this year. I still don't know if this was a wise decision, although I can understand the circumstances.

The ads definitely don't help. I use the site on my phone from time to time and as a supporter I don't see ads. It runs well enough.

CGI actually did it, I have my old name back! Thanks dude!

That's a blast from the past!

@Deyon the forums are absolutely less active than years past, but simply by coming back and making this thread (and others), you're helping. @NintendoPie too :) Honestly, I've been more engaged than usual this past week due to the return of some familiar faces and some added frivolity on the forums.

More threads, more memes, more conversations...it all helps. I don't think we can turn back the clock, but we can definitely improve.

Yeah I've noticed an uptick in activity this week as well. Another thing is comments on articles have definitely gone up. So some of the forum activity has moved to there.
