Regarding site improvements....

What is the status of the relationship between our team (mods, admins, developer, etc) and the owner of this site? I have the impression that ownership is essentially MIA. If that's the case, I wouldn't advise anyone to put real time and effort into improving this place unless they get enjoyment out of doing the work. Ownership could nuke the whole thing (either intentionally or due to inaction when needed) at any time.

In fact, every time this site goes down I find myself wondering if it will be gone forever. I assume that one of these times, it will be.

I've been wondering about this too every now and then...

Yeah I confess, it does worry me a bit, the thought of the forums potentially vanishing forever at any moment.
After 14 years here, I kinda like the place, and I'd miss it.

Has there been any contact at all with ioi in recent years?

What do you mean? To downvote IS to disagree. To disagree will lead to downvote for those who actually bother with that stuff. They are the same things in this regard. You are overly concerned about how other users will view your comments. Don't be.

No, that's just one way to see it, and the way I see it is that people probably use downvoting in different ways. Some probably use it as you describe, some probably use it like I do, which is to indicate a bad comment, not just one I happen to disagree with, and some probably have different ways to decide what to downvote. In fact, you might even downvote a comment you agree with, if you find it bad enough, so even then, downvoting doesn't necessarily mean disagreement.

Ok; it doesn't necessarily mean disagreement, but look at what you wrote. Do you really think about all that?. Why you can't you just leave it at disagreement and be over it?

It could be the end of days for VGC. Who knows? This site feels like 2006-2009. How many active members does the site have? I see topics on the top page of every forum that were made months ago. Yeeesh.

On that note, have the any members of the teams ever actually had relations?  It seems like a lot of the mods are gay and if so, then they'd jump on the mod bandwagon and get to it.  Which mods have dated irl???

Well obviously I don't think about all the ways downvoting can be interpreted when I downvote. I just use downvoting to indicate what I consider a bad comment and leave the other ways to use downvoting to others. Why can't you just leave it at indicating bad comment quality and nothing more? (See, I can play this game too.)

I’ve noticed how comments aren’t loading on chart articles…

If you can give a link to some of those specific articles that would be great.

And if you have a screen shot that is even better.

To be fair, I became a mod hoping to get some action.

not sure where to ask this, and I don’t believe it’s desirable to start a whole new thread for it, so I’ll post here: I’ve recently discovered you can “Ignore Users” with a bronze badge on VGChartz. Where is this “Ignore User” button? I’ve spent the past twenty minutes looking for it, but haven’t come up with anything.

edit: in case yall are wondering, there’s one person on this site…just one.

on the left side of everyone post is the users information.

Under the image is a username and an arrow pointing to the right.

Hover over that and a menu will appear slightly to the right of the arrow.

One of those options is "ignore user".
