With numbers like these Playstation is looking at a 2 million units month. That's a pretty good result which would mean that 5 million consoles have been sold in Q1. The insane shipment target might actually be met.

It is entirely possible Sony will hit its shipment target. Though as always there is always a gap between shipped and sold. And with Sony shipping so many PS5s so quickly there is likely 2M+ PS5 consoles in transit right now, plus they are now relatively easy to find in a lot of the world now on store shelves. Rather than it selling out instantly.

The PS5 has sold over 620,000 units in the US in March as it set an individual PlayStation record for March. Previous record was 620,000 by the PSP.

Switch and Xbox Series X|S are most likely down year-on-year as both had really a good March 2022. NS sold 500K and Xbox Series X|S sold 480K.

PS5 is having an unbelievable year. The shipment forecast for the coming year is going to be very interesting. Over 20m sales this calendar year may be on the table.

It is an insane year for PS5 so far. PS5 will most likely set a PlayStation record for most consoles sold in a single year. Unless stock out of nowhere drops again, which is highly unlikely.

Also figuring out these US estimates for March is a bit of a pain. But least we have an idea for PS5.

Seems like it, if PlayStation already moved 5 million in this quarter, it would need around 4 million for Q2 and Q3 and around 7 million for Q4. That's not even that far fetched imo.

The PlayStation 5 has once again set a new record for individual unit sales (620K+ min) for PlayStation hardware in March according to Mat.

I think that's being a bit conservative. I'm expecting Sony to ship anywhere from 23M - 25M for the current fiscal year. It seems like the PlayStation 5 is going to shatter a ton of records held by the PlayStation 2/ PlayStation Portable.

Just saw this. Even more impressive than I thought...

I am not positive but I thought i read from Tom Henderson a while ago that the shipments in the next 2 quarters might take a bit of a dip, (April-June and July-September) so they can stockpile the potential new model and attempt to ship 10M in Q3. (Oct-Dec) We'll see though.

If we use the same ratio of Digital to Disk version of PS5 in Japan (13.9% digital) and $400/$500 for each model respectively then the average sale price would be $486 and 620k units would come to $301 Million.

Total - $566 Million
PS5 - $301 Million
Switch + Xbox Series - $265 Million

With the potential inclusion of higher priced bundles and higher than 620k sales it could be even higher than $301 million for PS5 and it's pretty clear PS5 absolutely dominated this month.
