Well Tokon follower and wishlist data on Steam is tracking way behind Marathon at a similar time period. However, console might make up a significantly higher percentage of players.

Mexico is a fighting game country lol. Each time we went down to visit family, my cousins were always playing the likes of Tekken, Samurai Shodown, Marvel vs. Capcom, and especially King of Fighters lol. Every so often, Street Fighter but them and their friends mainly liked SNK fighting games.

Sony is closing yet another studio, Dark Outlaw Games.
The second studio that is led by Jason Blundell they open and close before even announcing a game.
Sony is also laying off a "small" amount of employees from US and UK.
And lastly it's also moving away from most of their mobile games initiative from now on.
All of the above was claimed by an user on ResetEra and got a "Yup" by Jason Schreier there.
Seems like that same user was also talking about Bluepoint getting shut down before it did too, as claimed by another poster. Dunno if it's another person to keep an eye about "rumors" or not, but as Jason "confirmed" it, it's already real IMO.
I'm not surprised about the closure of Dark Outlaw. I know linkedIn isn't necessarily accurate about data (you can put you are de CEO of LikedIn if you want to) but in theory the COD guy made the interview last year so they could "staff up" and there was literally no movement in their linkedin after that, the same 15tish people are listed there, when it comes to open opportunities there was only reports of 2, one of them was asking for an artist with AI experience btw.
So yeah it was interesting but no staff development in a whole year after reveal when LFG actually hired around 15 new peoples was very weird.
another one of the "Evolving/Multi-gen studio" bites the dust. It sucks for the 15 people working there tho.
With the other news of backing down from pc and mobile it feels like they are preparing for something not sure what yet.
Hulst Knocking on Doors.
Dear Nixxes, Haven, Media Molecule, Bend, and Housemarque... your time is nigh.

The chances of House closing are 0%.

Ever since the japanese leader (Nishino I think) took over from co-leading to being the actual leader everything Sony is doing is looking like to try to focus on the consoles and pretty much that, which is great IMO.
Studios closing are not, tho.
Paul Tassi is reporting from his Bungie sources that Marathon is currently around 1.2 million sales. He chimed in from Alinea Analytics initial "claim", confirming that the real sales figure is relatively close, but didn't specify if that figure is higher or lower as he's not allowed to disclose actual sales.
That is a rough start after nearly 4 weeks. Wouldn't be surprised if they're looking into a potential FTP model to get more players in.

As Versus said, I don't see Housemarque in that kind of situation at all.
Nixxes and Haven are likely screwed already.
Media Molecule and Bend will need to have excellent projects AND also have them becoming succesful or they'll also be joining the defunct studios soon too.
And as I said other times recently, Bungie must be in a really hard spot too, not to be shut down, but to become Sony's Destiny studio they like it or not, with 1/2 of the staff getting laid off too.
I'm so glad Astro Bot was such well received, Team Asobi are the remnants of Japan Studios and if Astro was not as good as it was I would also be concerned for them.

lt's been 5 years since their last game. If Saros doesn't exceed 5 million, their fate may be sealed. I'm curious why you think they're immune to a trigger happy Hulst.
