I was surprised by this purchase but after reading up on it, apparently the Peanuts brand is extremely popular in Japan. I had never known that. It's a different type of acquisition for them but apparently there's some growth opportunities here.

Really wasn't expecting to see Sony buying Peanuts brand in nearly 2026.

Honestly, Sony as a whole should really look to treat this as a multi-org IP offering and test how they can work together to leverage the IP.
