There’s no chance Sony is dropping Intergalactic next year… it’s a 2027 release, no doubt. :( Not if they’re saying Wolverine is their big title for next fiscal year. I don’t find Wolverine too appealing, there’s waaaay too much gore and violence for me

Relating to GTA I do wander whether Sony will delay or push forward Wolverine. I doubt they're keeping a November release date.

Either September/October 2026 or February 2027

Why would GTA6 delay make any difference to Wolverine? It's Wolverine... by Insomniac. The game will undoubtedly sell on name recognition alone.

There's no concern that Wolverine won't "sell" but that its sales potential will be impacted unnecessarily, especially at launch. All the meanwhile the impact on hardware will more or less be muted by GTA already doing the heavy lifting. There's likely a huge cross over in people would buy Wolverine and GTA6 day one, they're like the epitome of generic blockbuster for casual gamers, so the idea of them launching 1/2 weeks apart seems quite wasteful and I could easily see Sony strategically moving Wolverine out of that window to minimise cannibalisation and to create hardware & platform momentum elsewhere in the year/early next.

Having said all of that I completely imagine Wolverine having a "holiday release"... It's just "fall" which means Sept/Oct is potentially when it is intended to release anyway.

I don't think Insomniac has ever missed a target so far in terms of release dates but I do think GTA takes pressure off Sony having a single player blockbuster out for the Holiday/Thanksgiving.

If I recall correctly Spiderman 2 was a bit buggier than Sonys usual 1st party efforts (on console)

they posted a tweet the day lather saying Wolverine releases on Late 2026 a subtle way to says the release date hasn't changed, Sony also made today the statement that Wolverine is their biggest game for next year with the release of their financial result for 2/4 so I thing October. I don't think they are going to delay Wolverine.

That's good to know but in context of the financial results, I don't think the timing of it really allowed them to contextualise or respond to the GTA6 delay. Not sure when Sony would have found out though but these kind of decisions are more on-going conversations rather than something which is immediately decided the minute the news hits, so I don't think anything is set in stone

Man, I'm so excited for Bloodborne II. My uncle who works at Sony told me to get ready.

So they are really skipping Bloodborne Karting?

I doubt Sony would mess with Intergalactic release in any way, when Naughty Dog says it's ready to release, it'll release.

State of Play Japan announced for tomorrow (30 hours from now), will be in japanese with english subtitles, focused on games developed in Japan and Asian countries.

Nioh 3 should be shown there, and hopefully we get some new games too.

Ace Combat 8... please?

Doubt we get Disgaea 8 there as NIS is closer to Nintendo these days, but would love to see it.

This sudden State of Play feels like a reactionary one after GTA6 has been officially delayed again. I could see many games unveiled here be slated sometime for the first half of next year.

It looks like the Digital PS5 region locked for Japan will be officially announced here too.

They did announce the exclusive PS5 digital for Japan, 55K yen which is quite a lot cheaper than the current 73K they charge there.

No new Tokon character reveal is just... sad, to be honest.

Another closed beta, this being 3 days straight with no breaks is great, as I only got invited the last day when a single remaining period was yet to come and I could not be there during the timeframe as I didn't even think I would still get an invite during the last day lol.

I thought that JP SoP was pretty fine! Many things actually looked a little bit interesting

Still no PS All Stars 2 announced.
