Managed to snag Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut (PS5) for only $30USD. Big sale across Best Buy, Target, and Amazon today! Not sure if I’ll personally play it, I’m very iffy on blood in games, but I know my brother will definitely have fun with it.

I was able to get it and Horizon Forbidden West for about the same price on PC. Currently on Act 3 of Ghost and really been enjoying it. Not perfect but I really like the story and setting.

Got a decent amount of time in for GoY after a busy weekend.

Its head and shoulders above GoT. The freedom of the open world is engaging, the sense of discovery is still unmatched, with little additions like the spyglass and campfires, with returning features like no map markers and guiding winds, its take on the open world formula is so refreshing. On top of visuals that are absolutely gorgeous. The combat is still brutal and satisfying, with more weapons instead of stances, but the enemies hit so much harder. I'm not sure if this is mostly an early game thing before you upgrade your stats, armor, charms, etc. The narrative so far is gripping, with the opening sequence setting the tone, similar to GoT. But the way you gather hints and clues to advance the story, and opening up the map, is so much more immersive.

Can't forget about the use of the Dualsense either. The way Sucker Punch has implemented the touch pad is fun and creative in many ways. Using it for the campfire is really the only instance I don't like lol. Haptics continue to shine, but I'm a little disappointed with the use of the adaptive triggers, and I'm hoping its because I'm still early on in the game. This game just hits on so many different levels.

Sounds great!

I'll be sure to enjoy this epic sometime next year !!!

The Dualsense on Yotei is really great, love playing music and it coming out of it too lol.

I'm 25 hours in, I'm exploring every single bit of the map so, like always, I'm going really slow.

I got more into the combat now, it's definitely way more varied than Tsushima but I still preffer the stance system there, it was so good chaining different stance combos there and switching weapons is way cooler but a lot slower too.

One bit of advice is to completely avoid stealth on this game tho, it's terrible. It was not really good on Tsushima, it was ok, but now it's just terrible, the enemy AI is simply turn on and off immediatly even after the definitely should have been chasing you, they see dead friends and are alert for a few seconds and then just run back to their spots and it's all fine again. I can literally whistle to my horse while hidden in tall grass in the face of enemies, the horse actually comes to me and stays there, and no reaction whatsoever either to the whistle or the horse  Even after using the wolf and it following me, as long as I'm in tall grass and no enemies are aggro anymore, nobody gives a shit.

Also, being spotted doesn't bring that many enemies after you, so it's not really a big problem.

I just choose standoffs because that's way cooler and after that you can use all the dirty tricks you can imagine, it feels like the game was only well designed around it as it's how Atsu is, but there is no excuse to how bad the stealth is if you choose to do that. I'm glad I never cared much about stealth, I would choose to clean camps on Metal Gear Solid even, but it's really distasteful here, hopefully they update it somewhere down the road.

I'm trying to upgrade all charms that have require doing certain things, and I was doing the one that need tall grass kills and that really surprised me.

I'm loving her armors, and I also love we can have different build loadouts so I can change my perks and looks very easily, and I do want like changing them.

I think the sword skins are far too easy to get, some are just there in the middle of an open space for me to go and get it, and there is lots of them, so I'm feeling they are less special and rewarding then they should be. They do look great, and some do few special, so the good part is also there. Exploring the map is really fun and it's such a good experience, so there is lots of reasons to explore.

Side quests are pretty decent, I think the weapon masters are by far the best and are the ones closest to the major character side quests from Tsushima, but bounty hunting is a really great addition, some bounties are really good. Legends and challenges are great as they already were on Tsushima too.

I'm not far into the main story so I'll wait to comment on that, I think Tsushima main story and side characters got progressively better until their endings, which were really damn good by their end, so I will need to finish it here to properly compare them.

Like Tsushima it's not really a perfect game by any means, but I'm in love with it like I was back then too. The good points are SO DAMN good.

Yeah, stealth remains the weakest element of Ghost's gameplay. Assuming we get a third game that would be the biggest area to improve upon.

It will be interesting to see the rest of the European data when it comes in, could we see a possible PS5 over Switch 2 for August?  hmmm

Doubtful.

Can't really get a bigger picture of this so soon. PS usually does well in Spain and PS5 will clearly have the bigger userbase for the time being: games will obviously sell better on it while new Switch owners comitt to Nintendo made games.

Turns out they did sell more than Switch 2 in Europe for August.

Not sure what to make of this. I suppose keep it exclusive to PS5 alongside it's PC version.

I'm guessing because they funded the second half of development basically saving the game and the studio they get to keep the IP (or half of it).

What I liked about the news was the interest for not only investing but keeping a small game, that's basically how Helldivers came to be and how they formed a relationship with Housemarque over the years. That's something this generation lacked, Sony investing and keeping small games and I like the idea of that practice coming back. A potencial billion dollar business in Helldivers maybe was the incentive they needed to go back lol.

There's also the chance they acquired Giant Squid but I don't think that's the case, I would be shocked.
