They may as well get rid of the State of play name and just call it a 3rd party PlayStation and Xbox event with one new 1st party game and A Day's Gone remake no one asked for.

Tides of Annihilation looks stylist and sexy af. Need to see more!. Lost Records coming to PS+ catalogue was a nice surprise, looking forward to that one. It was an ok show.

So many promising new IP's revealed!

Metal Eden, Mindseye, and The Midnight Walk all stood out to me. Housemarque was not the first party studio I expected to show up lol! But I'm really digging the presentation style of the last two State of Play's.

The new Sonic racing game looks awesome, really stunning.
Returnal 2 as Saros is a nice thing to see.
But to be honest, the presentation was a massive waste of time to me.

Edit: forgot about the new digimon, looking foward to it.

The next SoP should be all about of very focused on Ghost of Yotei, so it should be a lot better.

Tides of Annihilation looks great, with a high quality Chinese game feel to it. Who's working on it?

I can get behind Sony having at least one first party announcement for every State of Play.

Its a massive improvement from some of the State of Plays we got in 2020/21 filled up entirely with indies lol.

Turns out it is a Chinese game. The very high production values hinted at it, but the setting, design, voice acting, and being first revealed on a western event didn't.

Don't expect it to come out before 2027 though.
