I'm not sure what to make of the rumors about the PS6 having two SoC's in development.

I'd rather Sony have a more conservative approach to PS6 hardware than following the Series X/S model. Although I'm personally leaning towards a more robust successor to the Portal launching shortly after the PS6.

I think this makes the existence of the PS5Pro even more important: PSSR. I hope there's the possibility of a portable version.

Sony Bend probably have the bandwidth. Plus, they'd know their custom UE4 engine better than anyone else.

Who would be free to remaster a Decima engine game?

I dont know much about the inside development teams but still, its a waste that a well known IP is dormant.

Sony should remaster Lost in Rain. Good game that no one played. Released on PS3 just before PS4 did.

Puppeteer is my choice ,never got to play it lol

+1

I agree that there are better remaster choices. I just don't think it's as simple as assigning a remaster to a team and having them complete it.

That said, Puppeteer is such an awesome game, that I would rebuy it if a PS5 version existed.

Yeah, I think these upscaling technologies are going to be the catalyst that platform holders are betting on going forward to improve performance while also helping to alleviate costs. Pure performance seems to have hit an affordability ceiling in the console market. There's been constant leaks that even Nintendo will be taking advantage of DLSS with their next generation Switch.

And with tech like PSSR getting continuous refinement as the next several years go on, that certainly would open the door for a nowhere near as powerful handheld, but with very competent performance. And I don't mean with a separate library. A premium home PS6 and a portable PS6.

I think you could rework Concord to make it be appealing. Add some more modes, completely rework the character designs and add some new ones, and maybe add a short single player campaign. Get rid of the toxic character designer and whoever it was that made people call them "The Professor." I think you'd see a fair amount of good will from certain segments of gamers at that point, and maybe it could start a snowball effect.

However, I highly doubt that happens, and my guess is they will hit the chopping block, with (hopefully) some of their talent being absorbed by other PS Studio teams.

Edit: I would also rename it. People would still know, but it might help get the stink off a little.

Owner of PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Switch, PS Vita, and 3DS

So, I played the first Horizon, and liked it well enough. I didnt really like the combat until the end when you could unlock the suit that tanked almost all damage, but I finally felt like I figured out how you were supposed to play it that whole time, as opposed to running away and firing back at the dinos, which felt kind of...stupid.

I got the VR game and enjoyed it well enough. It was a nice distraction.

But then this gen on PS5...I starting playing forbidden west, and after the beginning 5 hours when you can see the size of the map.... I had just gotten done playing Elden Ring and I was just like "This is too big, there are too many points of interest, this feels like work." I didn't last much longer and gave up on it. The DLC was more I wasnt interested in. Now a Lego Horizon game. And a remaster of the first game. I feel like that studio is just completely gung ho about Aloy and nothing but Aloy. Would've loved a Killzone 2 remaster or a new entry in the franchise (tho i really didnt like the last one they made...Shadow something I think.) Or something new. Any rumors about them doing anything non-Horizon related?

What a complete waste of investment Firewalk studio was, How do you spend millions to buy a studio and the only thing they are capable of is a live service game and the whole staff is incapable of making a different game project or be reshuffled to work on something new. They could have probably bought out a smaller studio who can make anything from RPG/shooter/TPS/horror for far less money instead of a 1 trick pony live service game studio.

Forbidden West is Zero Dawn but better at every aspect except story.

Forbidden West have pretty great lore too, tho.

How reliable of a source is Colin Moriarty? He's spreading claims that Concord's budget was like $400 million! Not only that, but that it was supposedly referred to internally as "the future of PlayStation" with a Star Wars-like potential.

I have a VERY hard time believing a hero shooter had the budget that rivals that of Call of Duty or even to some respects, GTA. Either this isn't true, or Jim Ryan was sold on a massive lie.

As credible as him thinking PSVita was going to outsell 3DS.

I'm very interested in how PSSR is going to stack up against other upscaling techniques/technologies. It opens up a lot of possibilities when it comes to the hardware side.

I hope it was well south of half of that. 80-150 would be reasonable, 400 seems devastating.
