While not the best news, I'm glad Sony didn't shut down Media Molecule, as they have the potential to produce the next big hit. LittleBigPlanet was too early for its time, capped by the slow start of the PlayStation 3, and handed off to another developer for the PlayStation 4 launch.

I think MM needs to take their creativity and move fully into the platformer space, both 2D and 3D.  They have a lot of potential to make some bangers.

Rolled the credits for SpiderMan 2 after nearly 20H.

Absolute thrill ride that demonstrates the potential of the PlayStation 5. Magnificent combat with streamlined abilities, including a parry button that adds another layer to encounters, electrifying traversal that lets you zip around NYC with the addition of web wings, an open world that encourages exploration with the lack of map markers, as well as dynamic crime encounters, emotional story with some fun side quests that branch out from the plot, the use of the adaptive triggers feel great, a variety of performance modes, with some of the best graphics to date.

Had a few minor issues including some bugs, but the pacing of the story and a few MJ sections detracted from the bombastic experience, although I enjoyed the last MJ section quite a bit. Stealth is a bit weird for me, since the AI was scaled down, but the addition of web lines made it fun to do.

This is the best superhero game ever made, in my opinion, and is my GoTY. 9/10. Going to clean up for the platinum before moving onto MK.

The Parrying system was so well integrated I actually forgot it wasn't in the first Spider-Man game. It's become such a key part of combat for me that I thought it was there all along.

I also don't much care for stealth in these games.

I feel like Media Molecule can stand out in the live service space, as long as there is a strong focus on gameplay for their next project, instead of taking a complete backseat to content creation/creators.

For as ambitious as Dreams was, it didn't have the co-op/multiplayer elements that LBP did.

It took a bit of time to distinguish when to parry, and when to dodge, but it was such a great refinement to already fun combat.

Yup and loving the combat and the parry just makes it much deeper.

Just beat Spiderman 2. Easy 9/10 for me. Loved the story and emotional depth way more than the first. Traversal is even more fun. Seeing the change in demeanor with Spiderman throughout the game was a nice touch. Lot of great villains, Kraven clearly the one with the most screentime. Wish there was more Venom, but it was cool for certain sections. Not sure how I feel about the ending and how it sets up the next game, but we'll see.

15 hours to beat. Think that's a little shorter than the first for me. 65% overall cleared, so I'm guessing another 10 or so to 100% it. After 100 plus hour of Star Ocean, and Tale of Symphonia, I'm cool with that length.

Spiderman 2 spoilers...

Spoiler!

Wasn't a big fan of seeing maybe OG Spiderman retiring. Didn't know who Cindy was, until I looked her up. Maybe she'll be a secondary spiderman to Miles. 3rd game definitely has my interest more than Horizon's 3rd game.

Also was disappointed with the lack of black cat... Hopefully DLC for her.

Spoiler text.Oh we know OG Spidey will be back. They teased Carnage for the next one and who else has symbiote powers to combat him. Peter. Even if it comes half way or late game. Peter will be back. Esp with Green Goblin finally happening. Save Harry kill Norman I bet is the end result. Also could be them explaining peter going to the alternate verse in Across.
