Honestly, I think it was the complete blue blowout in Texas as much as it was the overall Congressional results. Texas was MAGA's base of power, and Democrats pretty much swept decades of Republican political machinery out of office there despite Musk spending half a billion dollars defending it. The only thing MAGA really has left right now is Florida.

Careful here. If you compare the maps from 2 years ago with this year, you note that the entire southern border turned from reddish to almost solid blue. This is the "Latino area" of voter who believed Trump 2 years ago and have been "de-ICEd" in the past 2 years. This southern belt won Texas for the Dems, not a general "MAGA is over" movement. These MAGA-people are almost entirely potato sacks, once in the cult, always in the cult.

So this Texas flip likely is a huge "swing voters" result from the Latino crowd. In two years, they might swing back, leaving the Dems with the big cities.

Maybe we see a one-time-anti-Trump result, and the guy is irrelevant in two years (if he holds out that long. His senility likely is accelerating in the next years).

Harmeet Dhillon, head of the DOJ’s civil rights division, has resigned.

Under her tenure, the DOJ shifted from defending voting rights violations to pursuing Trump’s baseless voter fraud claims.

Russell Brand, who has been schmoozing with RFK Jr and doing the TPUSA religious persecution tour, just got convicted of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault in the UK courts.

It feels like, with Trump getting dealt such a solid rebuke in the midterms, that the world has decided that the MAGA bullshit is over and they don't have to suck up to that overgrown man-toddler, his Epstein class buddies like Musk, or his evangelical minions.

Birds of a feather rape together.

So 2028's Senate lineup doesn't look great for the GOP.

Democrats have a good chance to have a trifecta with a 60+ seat Senate in 2028, especially if the rest of this term goes as it has been. They better not waste it.

Trump is reportedly trying to scramble for a replacement for Hegseth. Not only is he going to be a prime target for Democrats, but a lot of Republicans are pissed off with him and blaming him for the loss on Tuesday.

Vance has pretty much destroyed his chances of ascending to the presidency because of his role in these losses. Hopefully this also scuttles Rubio as a contender.

Somebody is scared.

Tuesday felt a bit like V-E Day.

The aftermath is like season 5 of Breaking Bad, after Walter White’s empire implodes.

I did some math with the Mississippi data. If you extrapolate the current vote counts by county using the NYT remaining votes estimate (<4000 was just rounded to 4000), I have Colom (the Democrat) winning by 229 votes. A few thousand of these outstanding votes are likely to be mail in ballots (which generally lean left) but most are provisional ballots and I honestly have no idea which way those will lean so this this is probably going to come down to the wire.

Colom is 98% on Polymarket, so I assume he’s basically a lock and everyone has done the numbers. Peltola is 96%.

Colom is 1800 votes ahead. His lead is widening.

Unless they uncover a few pockets of rural voters, Hyde-Smith is toast.

AZ’s house delegation will be 5-4, Democratic majority. All  five Democratic seats have been called plus Gosar’s.

Holy shit the meltdowns of the AI Bros on Twitter since the midterms are soooo good
