Frankly, I wish Trump would join Tara Reade, Steven Seagal, and Edward Snowden in Russia. Putin offered to repatriate white American conservatives, along with white South Africans.

Reporter: You yourself were part of killing the senate compromise bill. You say there need to be solutions, what are house Republicans doing to get to a solution on the border and on Ukraine? Or are you going to actually do nothing? pic.twitter.com/3CjaN9BCx0

Good Lord.
Breaking News: Tom Suozzi defeated Mazi Pilip, flipping a House seat to Democrats in the critical special election to replace George Santos in New York. https://t.co/6EyrtcgHNG

A few hot NY 3 takes. It appears:
— Tom Bonier (@tbonier) February 14, 2024
- The polls had a pro-GOP bias, again
- Immigration backfired for the GOP, esp in the context of their legislative failure
- GOP turnout suffered, but not enough to explain these margins. Suozzi won a lot of Inds and a decent number of GOPs

Reporter: Suozzi seized on the fact that you rejected the bipartisan border security deal. Did you mishandle this issue and effectively give Democrats something to campaign on?

We have got to stop letting random anonymous insiders influence forecasters and define the mainstream media's opinion on elections.

It's getting ridiculous. Journalists will listen to literally *anyone* that talks to them, and the people who love talking often know the least. https://t.co/9h8E99GnQb

Mike Johnson is a bigger disaster for Republicans than Kevin McCarthy.
What a clown this dude is.
When you realise that you're old as fuck too.
Fascinating, isn't it? Age solidarity from Trump. pic.twitter.com/AFiVtGxoF4

I think the problem with Trump is not so much Trump, but the people who see that and think "He's the greatest president of all time!" when he flaunted the shirking presidential duties and decorum, which also shows his blatant hypocrisy (like whining about Obama wasting time on golf, then golfing significantly more... and cheating at it), along with all the cracked-out social media stuff where he posts dozens of poorly written Twitter posts from like 2am to 5am. On top of these insane "rallies" he does where he just goes off like a sweaty tweaking crackhead with ludicrous, pro-destructive, and pro-hate rants.
This is the problem. That people look at this and him as a great leader instead of the raving meth head on a soap box that he is. That people describe this as charisma and god leadership is baffling, and I think reveals a deep problem with the voting base in the US.
These people are the problem:
The fact that the lunatic fringe has become mainstream is a major problem. This has ended in only two ways, historically - the sobering of society or disaster (usually emergency measures acts, a war, or the collapse of the state - occasionally all three).
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

A vague warning by the chair of the House Intelligence Committee about a "serious national security threat" Wednesday is related to Russia and space, according to three people familiar with the matter.
The U.S. has been concerned about Russia's advancement in space for years. While the people did not provide much in terms of details, one of them said the intelligence is related to Moscow's weaponization of its orbital systems.
In his statement Wednesday morning, Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) said his committee had made available the information about the national security threat and called on the administration to declassify the intelligence so officials and lawmakers could discuss the matter with allies.
House Intel chair's national security warning is about Russia’s space power - POLITICO
The White House's national security adviser and leading lawmakers on Capitol Hill sought to allay public concerns on Wednesday after the House Intelligence Committee chairman warned of a "national security threat" related to a "destabilizing foreign military capability" so serious that President Joe Biden should declassify "all information" about it.
Two sources familiar with deliberations on Capitol Hill said the intelligence has to do with Russia wanting to put a nuclear weapon into space. This is not to drop a nuclear weapon onto Earth but rather to possibly use against satellites.
Still, "it is very concerning and very sensitive," said one source, calling it "a big deal."
While not addressing the subject directly, multiple members of Congress quickly described the issue as serious without stoking public alarm.
Will Mike pass the Ukraine aid now? Probably not.
