Congratulations to Venezuelan democracy activist Maria Corina Machado for winning the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts against the Chavez and Maduro governments.

In other news, MAGA World (and Putin, though I guess he's an associate of MAGA World), are completely losing their shit because a guy who has blown up fishing boats, threatened the national sovereignty of at least three countries, and deployed troops against his own people was snubbed. But hey, he brokered a historic peace deal between Azerbaijan and Albania.

Oh man, that 3,000 year war over the dead sea was finally over. It's still going take the foot soldiers years to walk over 2,000 km back home.

Anyway congratulations to Maria Corina Machado, well deserved.

The Nobel Committee said it had decided to award the prize to Machado “for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy”.

Hope she can come out of hiding :/

Trump pretty much black mails the whole planet to bow down to America or the countries will either get tariffs to starve to death, bombed to death or occupied. But he loves humans so much he needs that price! The simple fact that he himself is such a big narcissist to only think about himself deserving the price should automatically exclude him from it.

I knew Asmongold had some conservative leanings, but I didn't realize he was this much of a POS...

After learning more about her, I take my congratulations back. Struggle to achieve a peaceful transition, load of bollocks.

Kansas Young Republicans shut down after Politico report on racist, violent, encrypted chat - Kansas Reflector

"Politico, a digital news company specializing in coverage of U.S. politics, reported Kansas Young Republicans chair Alex Dwyer and vice chair William Hendrix took part in the Telegram group chat.

In 2,900 pages of chat text, Hendrix praised the Missouri Young Republicans because leaders in that state didn’t like LGBTQ+ people. He repeatedly used racial slurs to refer to Black people, including words such as 'n–ga' and 'n–guh.' In a July conversation in the thread about African-Americans, he said, 'Bro is at a chicken restaurant ordering his food. Would he like some watermelon and Kool-Aid with that?'

He was fired from a communications job in the office of Attorney General Kris Kobach as Politico prepared its report on Hendrix’s role in the chat.

'The comments in the chat are inexcusable,' Kobach said. 'As soon as the office learned of those messages, Will Hendrix’s employment was terminated.'

US lawmaker to return pro-Israeli AIPAC lobby group’s donations

A prominent Democratic lawmaker in the US has announced he will return donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), highlighting the powerful pro-Israel lobby group’s waning appeal among Democrats.

Congressman Seth Moulton, who is challenging progressive Senator Ed Markey in next year’s midterm primaries, cited AIPAC’s support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the reason he is distancing himself from the group.

The move by Moulton, a centrist and a strong supporter of Israel, shows that backing from AIPAC is increasingly becoming a political liability for Democrats after the horrors Israel has unleashed on Gaza.

“In recent years, AIPAC has aligned itself too closely with Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government,” Moulton said in a statement.

“I’m a friend of Israel, but not of its current government, and AIPAC’s mission today is to back that government. I don’t support that direction. That’s why I’ve decided to return the donations I’ve received, and I will not be accepting their support.”

Listen to people when they tell you who they really are.

Been warning y'all for years now that it was exactly this shit bubbling under the surface, only held back by social convention and fear of repercussion. Social conventions are changing and there's no fear of repercussion, so if this fashy trend continues, we're gonna have to put down the GOP the same way we put down the Nazi party circa 1939-1945.

I genuinely love this sort of protest; the fun, the silliness, the mockery, the peacefulness and positivity. Hope to see a lot more of it this weekend.

Trump has just commuted the sentence of former Congressman and convicted fraudster George Santos. Elected to the House of Representatives for NY-3 in 2023, he was expelled by the House on December 1, 2023, becoming the sixth member of the House to be expelled in its history in a 311-114 vote. Trump's jusification? "At least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!"

Remember, kids. Law and order was never anything other than a dog-whistle. It means the exact same thing when Trump says it as it did when George Wallace and Richard Nixon said it in 1968.

Law for thee, order for me.
