I don't think this will split the vote in meaningful numbers, maybe I'm being pessimistic but if I've seen anything over the past few years, the Republican Party ALWAYS falls in line, especially now under the Cult of Trump and Elon Musk is a deeply unpopular figure, his fanbase are Twitter trolls and "tech bros" who barely vote anyway. It's one of the things the Republican Party and their voters are best at, always falling in line.

It's funny because Musk can't even become President so I wonder who they're going to push, Lol.

Elon isn't very good to sticking to a plan. But, if wants to create a spoiler party, let him... maybe his ego will actually drive this through.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I am tired of billionaires trying to run things, they are out of touch on what the regular person needs.

Put a genuine working class individual in the top job and watch some real progress happen.

You make a good point, but it still will be worth it even if the only good outcome is the shit and giggles and watching them spill the beans on each other. 。

The way this world is going it's looking increasingly likely to me that the world will get divided into Blocks again, and it looks like there will be 3: The EU and their partners, the US and those who stayed loyal to the MAGA, and then the BRICS+ - though I expect some countries like Brazil or South Africa to be in 2 out of 3 blocks.

There is also still the African Union (55 member states that make up the countries of the African Continent).
South Africa is already in multiple Blocks, and seem more likely the AU will join BRICS. So yeah BRICS+.

"While South Africa is currently the only African member of BRICS, the bloc has expanded to include Egypt and Ethiopia as full members, and several other African nations participate as partner countries.
The BRICS countries also engage with the African Union on various issues and initiatives"

Unlike UNASUR which is not open to join BRICS, but some of its members have joined.
EU-MERCOSUR trade deal is also there, so EU could deepen ties with South America.

ASEAN is more open to join BRICS and several of it's 10 members already have.
https://eastasiaforum.org/2025/02/22/asean-members-balance-with-brics-as-the-world-shifts/

BRICS is going to be much bigger than a divided US / EU, US will get more and more isolated, and thus more and more dangerous with their military.
EU would do well to further strengthen ties with South America, Africa and Asia.

Anyway it does look like we're at a cross-roads in geopolitics. Balance is shifting, has been shifting, Trump is accelerating the process by destroying US EU relationships as well as destroying US' soft power. While remaining dogmatically focused on keeping power in the ME through Israel, US is quickly losing the rest of the world.

I find a lot of the attitude around "Alligator Alcatraz" to be extremely gross.

Even if this is for murderers exclusively - I think that's weird to celebrate. I can be happy to be part of a society that removes dangerous people, and I'm not going to be sad if a serial killer gets stabbed in prison or whatever.

But I'm not going to celebrate that. I'm not going to get a hat with the name of the prison, I'm not going to take pictures of a sign.

It just feels like "I have someone I can justify hurting now" - and I think that's terrifying that so many people have that mind set.

(And I really doubt that most people that end up being picked up, are going to be anywhere near as severe as murderers and rapists.)

President Trump's Justice Department and FBI have concluded they have no evidence that convicted sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein blackmailed powerful figures, kept a "client list" or was murdered, according to a memo detailing the findings obtained by Axios.

  • The administration is releasing a video — in both raw and "enhanced" versions — that it says indicates no one entered the area of the Manhattan prison where Epstein was held the night he died in 2019.
  • The video supports a medical examiner's finding that Epstein died by suicide, the two-page memo claims.

Zoom in: According to the memo, investigators closely examined footage of Epstein's Manhattan prison cell between around 10:40pm on Aug. 9, 2019, when Epstein was locked in his cell, and around 6:30am the next day, when he was found unresponsive.

  • The footage, which was reviewed by Axios but couldn't be verified independently, showed no one entering the area, the administration said.
  • "The FBI enhanced the relevant footage by increasing its contrast, balancing the color, and improving its sharpness for greater clarity and viewability," the memo says.
  • Investigators found "no incriminating 'client list' " of Epstein's, "no credible evidence ... that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals," and no "evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties," the memo adds.

Jeffrey Epstein Documents: DOJ, FBI Conclude No "Client List," Death Was Suicide

I believe Epstein killed himself but if there is no client list then the Trump admin has lied one way or another.

Pam Bondi in February: The Epstein client list is sitting on my desk right now to review.

Pam Bondi today: There is no Epstein client list and no "further disclosure" of Epstein-related material "would be appropriate or warranted."

So either they lied about having the client list or they're lying now, Lol.

Republicans will once again fall in line though and won't be mad about being taken for fools.

I always maintained that Epstein did, in fact, commit suicide. He had nothing to lose at that point and likely didn’t fancy spending the rest of his life in prison. And what incentive did he have to talk, unless he got another sweetheart plea deal like the one Alex Acosta (Trump’s former labor secretary) gave him in 2007? Did all these people think that nonce was going to somehow develop a conscience and spill his guts?

Even if there was a client list, that well was poisoned anyway. Everybody was hoping to see their political enemies on the list depending on their party affiliation. Everybody also knows Trump and Epstein were besties, so it’s not like this would have been a bridge too far for the MAGA cult.
