David Carlson lives at an address where the police executed a search warrant for the shooting suspect, Vance Boelter. In an interview at this home, Carlson said he and Boelter had been best friends since fourth grade, and he read a text message that the suspect had sent him early this morning, saying he might be dead soon and apologizing.

Between all of the different protests in the Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania area (about half a dozen of them) there probably were 15,000 - 20,000 people. 

I attended two. One downtown, which was more middle-class center-left liberals. One in the uptown/hill district area which was more urban, radical, and multi-racial. The first was probably 2,000 - 4,000 people, the second 1,000 - 3,000 people. 

All positive vibes. 

The best part was that we didn't even think about the stupid military parade. 

One fascist driving in his car told us we were 'domestic terrorists", and one guy walking downtown with a MAGA hat but other than that no counter-protesters.

Trump never ceases to amaze. Now he managed to make the US military look weak. That's quite an accomplishment. His idols in Russia, China and North Korea won't be impressed by what was put on display today.

The most disheartening thing about all of this for Trump must be that he had to listen to a history lesson and facts. I am reminded of the images of the Trump administration in church from January when they had to sit still and listen to things they absolutely did not want to hear.

Even worse, he managed to make the US military look weak with a military parade, the best thing to show off it's strength there is.

Kinda reminded me of the parade from The Great Dictator
