I think Elon is upset that the bill doesn't slash enough things.

It's a conflict between small government Republicans who want the market to directly control things, and big government Republicans who want the government to support the control.

Russia's Medvedev publicly confirmed today that Russia isn't interested in peace and they are not negotiating in good faith, something which Lindsey Graham saw, it would have been an incredibly stupid statement to make publicly, but I don't think Russia cares anymore because they know just how pathetic Trump is, they can now say anything they like and he still won't stand up to them.

Too Weak Trump is still refusing to sanction Russia, despite it having bipartisan support in the Senate, reportedly 80/100 signatures, but Senate Republicans won't put forth the bill because they're terrified of publicly disagreeing with their TACO King. So what we have is Senate Republicans screaming "Sanctions! Sanctions!" and Trump saying "TWO WEEKS! TWO WEEKS!" and sanctions never coming.

What we have is...

  • Scenario 1 - Sanctions never come because Senate Republicans are too terrified to override their King and publicly go against him, so they'll keep saying they want sanctions for optics but never actually put forth a bill.
  • Scenario 2 - Senate Republicans (who would need the help of Democrats), approve the bill with a two-thirds majority and thus override Trump's objection, publicly going against Trump's wishes.
  • Scenario 3 - Senate Republicans pressure Trump (either privately or publicly) to support the bill and sign it, then they finally vote on it.
  • Scenario 4 - After 4 months, multiple Putin rejections of Trump proposed ceasefires, 3 "2 week" deadlines, a broken energy ceasefire by Russia, Trump finally stands up to Russia and backs sanctions, Senate Republicans pass the bill and Trump signs it.

Just over a week to go before Trump's 3rd two week deadline is over 🫡

Didn't know Too Weak Trump was a thing in his first Presidency too.

Wonder if there is some sort of psychology behind this, Lmao. Like "two weeks" is the perfect amount of time between not being so long that people actually do believe you're about to do something big but also being just long enough that people will forget about it in two weeks, LOL. Of course the actual answer is just that he is just a useless prick.

US tariffs of 50 per cent on steel and aluminium will take effect from June 4 after Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday escalating his global trade war a week after a court ruled the bulk of his levies illegal.

The new tariffs double existing levies on the sector of 25 per cent that the president introduced earlier this year. Duties on UK steel and aluminium will remain at 25 per cent — a carve-out for London after it signed a trade deal with Washington last month.

Elon just wants to sell his cars again so that he needs to do something especially to convince European and Chinese buyers that he's the good one lol.

The bill would stop giving $7500 for new EV buyers and $4000 for used EV buyers. Cutting those $7500 would mean a loss of revenue of ~2 Billion dollars for Tesla and would certainly be followed by a selloff of Tesla shares, and Elon can't stand that as he would lose a chunk of net worth from this.

This will bankrupt several US companies because some kinds of specialized steels are only produced in Europe and the US doesn't smelters don't have the equipment - or the patents for that matter - to make those steels. That spectre was already being raised during Trump's last presidency, but now this comes through with full force...

What's more, his energy business (batteries, charging stations, etc...) would also be defunded by that bill, costing him even more.

Can't wait for the midterms to see how this pans out.

President Trump expressed admiration for China's President Xi but noted the challenges in negotiating deals with him, describing Xi as "very tough."

This is embarrassing bro, he is so desperate to get Xi to call him and make a deal that he is now glazing the fella, Lmao. But I think what will happen is that Trump will cave and make a deal but he will spin it as him successfully making a deal with one of the toughest leaders on the planet so he can then glaze himself too, then his fanbase will glaze him. That's why he is glazing Xi now, so the eventual cave can be spun as a win for Trump.

There is zero chance this dude defends Taiwan against China.
