‘IT’S OVER’: Canada’s Prime Minister Tells Americans The Dark Truth

@RonFromToronto "Thank you for this Kyle. I am Canadian in America. I have been here for 10 1/2 years. I planned to be here for the rest of my life. I canceled my citizenship interview. The beautiful rustic wooden American flag that I paid 150 or so dollars for and that I had hanging proudly in my living room is in my closet. It will never hang in my house again. I am working on selling it. If I fail to sell it, it’s going into the garbage.
I am currently interviewing for jobs in Vancouver and plan to move out there in under a year. I plan to never live in America ever again. And it is quite possible that I will never visit America ever again. I am a healthcare worker. I have helped thousands of Americans with their health. That’s going to be stopping soon.
But to use a phrase you often use: don’t get it twisted. This is not simply a Trump or an MAGA thing. If that were all it was, that would be one thing, but what this experience has shown me in very clear terms is that the single worst international stereotype about Americans is mostly true. That is that most Americans don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves and America.
How many weeks and months did it take for more than a vocal minority of Americans to start showing any degree of caring that their president had just betrayed their longest, closest, most loyal ally that did nothing to deserve any kind of negative treatment at all? The single worst offender being Gavin Newsom. Trump had been doing this 51st state and governor Trudeau talk while Canada was sending water bombers and firefighters to help put out the California wildfires. Newsom said nothing.
Then a matter of maybe five or six weeks after the fires have been put out with Canadian help the tariffs were put on and Newsom said nothing. He only began speaking when it became very clear that Canadians weren’t screwing around and that we would be boycotting America for the indefinite future. He only started to care when the Canadian money stopped coming in.
I live in Tucson, Arizona. I have been absolutely stunned by the lack of care by people about the betrayal of Canada here. I have stopped talking to a lot of people. This country has the single worst case of only child syndrome I have ever seen. This is not the United States of America. This is the United States of narcissism.
Don’t expect Canadians to ever forgive this. Don’t expect Europeans to ever forgive this. Trump may have started it, and those MAGA morons may have bolstered it. But when actual caring for your longest closest ally is limited merely to a vocal minority, sorry we’re done here. To Gavin Newsom and every other American who only started caring at all when it started affecting their pocketbooks, here’s a Canadian quarter. Go fuck yourselves."
I agree and will keep boycotting US products. I'm not the only one as my local supermarket is not restocking some things from the US anymore while others have to be heavily discounted to still sell. Sorry for the farmers, but fresh produce is the first casualty. Product of Mexico or further South, no more États-Unis.
