Elon Musk basicly doing two “Sieg Heils” in his Trump inauguration speech is one of the scariest things I have seen. But it is consistent with what radical Trumpist vermin has been doing for a while. It serves two purposes:
1. Condition the supporters to accept anything you are doing.
2. Show to your opponents that you are so powerful that you can get away with anything.

He of course denies that it had anything to do with the connection to Adolf Hitler. But he obviously quite deliberately chose to do the salute BECAUSE OF the connection to Hitler, had it not been the case he would have apologised already.

Genuinely I wonder if Musk is more dangerous than Trump at this point, I actually hate Musk more than Trump, Lol. Though for now it appears Twitter, FB and TikTok are going to be under King Trump's thumb.

I'm not giving Musk the benefit of the doubt, he doesn't deserve it, If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. Also the "Roman Salute" is still widely considered a fascist symbol as you pointed out so there's no real difference between fascist salute and Nazi salute. AFAIK there is no actual evidence that the Roman Salute was an actual salute used by Romans either and instead the Italians made that shit up because Mussolini was obsessed with the Roman Empire and recreating it.
