Never had any problems with 'antivir' and common sense

I use AVG and Spybot.

If you are still using Internet Explorer, you will see the amount of Spyware you get cut by more than half by switching to Firefox.

I don't have any antivirus on XP currently...they all ate up too many resources, and AVG gave me problems with Steam.

Maybe I'll go back to AVG if the Steam problems are fixed...I don't really care though, I browse safely with Firefox.

I use AVG Free and I have no problems with steam. Thats odd.

Late last year it was constantly causing my Community overlay to hang or crash...removing AVG solved the problem, so I guess I've been hesitant to use it again.

Then again that was when I had Vista...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Best software: BSD, Linux, Mac OS X

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

I would suggest a enterprise version of McAfee, though they aren't readily available to the public... McAfee 8.5i Enterprise does a marvelous job for me. I wouldn't trust a retail version of McAfee though... Nor do I trust Norton... AVG does a decent job for free.

AVG, Spybot, Ad-aware, Firefox+ NoScript.

Like Hyneman would've said, "Now here's your problem."

Kaspersky is amazing for anti-virus, although it is a difficult program to crack. Symantec isn't bad either (much easier to crack).

Webroot Spysweeper is the top of the line program for spyware, but it is also extremely difficult to crack. Adware and Spybot are both pretty good too.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I'd use AdAware if I had a Windows machine. But I dont. I have a Mac. In that case, my anti-virus/spyware software is OSX.

I have Norton360, don't know if its the best, but i've been using it for 4 months and never had a problem with a virus

That probably because your PC is running to slow for a virus to get in.

I use AVG Pro and common sense and I've been spyware and virus free for as long as I remember.

Does anyone here use a firewall at all? I use peer guardian as my only form of defence from the outside world, but Vista keeps blocking it at startup, which sucks.
