I'm assuming that if it's on PS4 that I can still download them onto my PS5, right? Like, I won't have to dust off my PS4? I don't use my PS5 as often as my Series X, so I forgot how that works.

Haven't seem a single PS4 game confirmed to not work on PS5, so I would say you are safe. THe most that can happen is they in the future charging for the upgrade version (even if pointless).

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I think there's like 7 PS4 games that don't work on PS5. But they're all so small and inconsequential that nobody cares.

  • Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One
  • TT Isle of Man Ride on the Edge 2
  • Just Deal With It!
  • Robinson: The Journey
  • We Sing
  • Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
  • Shadwen

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

So it is explained why Sony didn't promise all games on the reveal, so nobody would go complaining about these titles and trying class actions

It should work, I dont see why they would go back on it.

I mean the first PS3 unit did have temp b/c with PS2 games but it was taken off like a year or so after when a model came out if I remember right but I dont see any reason why they would do it now since the architect is similar to a PC more than a traditional game console nowadays.

Sony mandated that after July 13th, 2020 any PS4 game that was released must be forward compatible and play on PS5. So there should be no issue with this.
