Although I love Sony products.... I agree with you. But mabbe in a year or so.... Blu-Ray may be their first Successful Product. They have innovated many products but failed due to proprietary mindset. Betamax, Mini Disc and such......

At least in the Video Game market, you're pretty much correct. Let me list innovations from Nintendo:
1) The direction pad
2) Shoulder buttons
3) Analog stick
4) Rumble feature
5) Wii Remote
Basically, everything about modern controllers was first implemented by Nintendo. Can anyone name any Sony video game innovations? Any at all? I can name vague things like "they broke open the European market" and "they popularized the disk format for home consoles," but that's a big difference from major innovation (the disc format had been used previously by a bunch of consoles, just less succesful ones). Seriously, this isn't just a snide remark: if anyone can name some specific innovation by Sony, I'd really be interested in hearing it.
On the other hand, Sony is obviously an enormously succesful company, and they adapt well to changing environments and popular tastes. Can the same be said of Nintendo? Sometimes they're spot on; other times, such as with online gaming, they don't get the picture and seem to refuse to do so. Sony, on the other hand, adapted quite well to Nintendo's innovations over the years, and has caught on to online gaming much faster than Nintendo has. Moreover, I think one can reasonably claim that the PS2 controller was superior to the Gamecube one; Nintendo may have innovated, but Sony added the polish and shine.
Just providing two sides of the argument.

the things I bolded plus wireless controllers are actually from Atari.

Actually Atari used a JOYstick the analog stick as we know it first appeared on the N64 and I'm pretty certain the first "control-pad" with shoulder* buttons standard was from SNES.
In addition N64 and the Wii are the only consoles I know of to offer a "trigger" like button toward the back/bottom of the controler.

Souixan beat me to it, but you're wrong. A Joystick and Analog stick are fundamentally different. They still make Joysticks for PC use, if you'd like to get one, and there's a reason why one is called "analog" and the other isn't. If you can find a controller with shoulder buttons pre-SNES, I'd love to see it, though. Not being coy: I would.

People should get over this Nintendo innovation hype. You think DS touch screen is innovation, i hope not. And they already got sued about the wii mote. Its damn near impossible to make something that some one has not "kinda" done already and patented.
