These are still the plans, as of right now. But you never know with Xbox changing strategies.

Has Jez talked to someone high level at xbox, willing to be quoted saying that?
Cuz honestly, he plays some major defense for xbox and often backtracks when things arn't as he said.
Remember "just 4 titles" and now everything is going multiplat ?
Jez was one of those people swearing up and down, that no more titles would go multiplat.... and low and behold... what came to be.
Basically hes often wrong about things, and just like a PR mouthpiece fanboy.
SneakersSO is likely someone that works at Xbox.... who learns of stuff going on in meetings, and occasionally talks about stuff on forums.
What contact at Xbox did Timdog talk to, that set him off? Was all that made up?
Or should we believe Jez because of... ?
I'm choosing to take a wait and see approach, whilst everyone else pisses their pants.

Same here. If Xbox makes next-gen hardware, I may get it if all of the rumors are true and it has access to all PC storefronts in addition to it's own, with continued AMD driver support to keep it up to date with PC performance when playing PC games, but they will also need to beat the price:performance ratio that a self-builder like myself can achieve on PC, and I'm skeptical they will do that considering their recent pricing tactics, moving away from being willing to sell hardware at a loss to gain marketshare and install base for more software sales and subs.
If they don't make next-gen hardware, I will just upgrade my PC and sub to PC gamepass occasionally when a game I want to play drops on it.

Can we not use fanboys as source for rumors and information. My goodness.

Like a few months afterwards ...... things turned out different.
SneakerSO talked about the ports coming... before anyone knew about it.
Him and HeisenbergFX4, can trade stories about insider stuff that happens at Xbox.
Like things Phil Spencer has said and done, and their reactions to situations and stuff.
(so dude likely works at or with some people at xbox)
You choose to believe in Jez over a proven insider? That's multiple times been proven right in leaking stuff?
While Jez has been proven wrong about stuff, more than once.
Anyways nothing is set it stone, lets see how this plays out.
SneakerSO said its up in the air, and that moves needed to launch a new console soon, have not been taken.
That is not the same as its a sure thing, no new xbox console gets made ever again. Just that its not a 2026 or 2027 thing,
because they are behinde the curve, on stuff needed for that to be possible.
Timdog is the one that went insane and claims its done for xbox. Now lots of people are just running with it, and there has been no word from xbox side.
I though it's pretty obvious that there won't be a "normal" Xbox console anymore. Maybe Xbox will still release some kind of hybrid console, maybe other manufacturers like ASUS will release them and XBOX will only ensure that they use the same specifics or maybe they will just push XBOX much more on PC but not really sure why that's such a big thing for people... would be a way bigger thing if Xbox as a brand would just disappear for those who want to use XBOX controllers, get Xbox achievements and so on... but if "XBOX" runs on a Microsoft hybrid console, ASUS hybrid console or self build PC in the future? Mehh...
If Xbox executives are changing their minds every other week, how the hell are you gonna take literally anyone else, especially social media influencers, seriously on their opinions on how things seem to be playing out? Lol
I don’t take Jez seriously much. He’ll get some things right then backpedal on other things.

I'm not choosing to believe anyone. Jez and a number of others are wrong all the time. I take all of them with a huge grain of salt, especially fresh off any kind of debacle.
All I know is, after the constant missteps Xbox had made this generation, there is no way in hell I would buy closed platform next-gen Xbox hardware. If they are going to make next-gen hardware, it must be fully open platform, so that if 3rd party devs don't support the Xbox store or if Xbox themselves abandon their hardware and/or Xbox Store mid-gen because the suits decide it's losing too much money, at least it can be used to play PC games downloaded from PC storefronts for years to come, until it's specs fall below minimum system requirements for newer PC releases. Microsoft has become far too volatile in their decision making for me to buy closed platform Xbox hardware from them.
As for these "insiders", none of them have good enough track records for me to trust them. For the time being, the most solid info we have is Xbox less than 4 months ago committing to a multi-year partnership with AMD for new hardware including a verification of next-gen hardware development. Their gaming division financials were already meh then, they already knew CoD on Gamepass cost them alot of CoD sales then without driving as many Gamepass subs as they wanted, they were very likely already having early meetings on game and studio cancellations and closures then and on Gamepass price increases they knew would be unpopular with the fans, and yet they still went ahead and announced the new hardware in June. If things are as bleak at Xbox as some of these "insiders" claim, I don't see why they would have even bothered to announce the multi-year hardware deal, just close up shop on the hardware division now, save yourself the manufacturing and distribution cost of 2 or 3 more years of Series S and X production and next-gen hardware R&D costs. The fact they went ahead and announced next-gen hardware makes me more inclined to agree with Jez than the others.
