The thing I've noticed with Jez, is that he's the very epitome of a twitter personality. He lets the nature of that app dictate how he approaches discourse as whole, whether he's on or off it. If you ever listen to bits of the Xbox Two podcast, he's always talking as if he's tweeting. It's soundbites, provocative statements, attention grabbers, etc. All the things you do on twitter for maximum attention/engagement. That's why he lets Rand talk for what feels like 90% of the time, because normal back and forth conversation doesn't mesh with the way he likes to generally present himself, and it's very notable how different he comes across whenever they do at times get into longer arguments about something. |
I really like Rand, I feel like he is a good counter balance to Jez who yeah, does pretty much what you say, Rand in comparison is really calm and doesn't really try to cause drama, Jez needs to realise that his reputation as a journalist is quite high now so people do latch onto what he says, his words carry weight so he needs to be more careful with what he says, like the Era thread used his comment as a source that maybe it could be true, Lol.
That's just what he has to deal with now, but he often doesn't seem to care and is still pretty careless sometimes, he could have just not responded or said that he will investigate it like other journalists did, instead he created a scenario which added more weight to a very obviously bullshit rumour, not fun for the developers I imagine either but he doesn't seem to care what they think (the whole drama with Obsidian was a bit embarrassing).
