Nate is saying Fable is still on track for 2025.

"I think Fable definitely makes this year, I don't think anything that Microsoft has publicly dated for 2025 has slipped out of the year, I think everything that they have publicly dated will release this calendar year as planned"

MY WEEKLY REASSURANCE. ONTO NEXT WEEK.

But he thinks Fable will likely have the Indiana Jones slot...Aka December...Nate my bro, that doesn't sound confident!

Does NOT think Forza Horizon 6 will release in 2025.

Flight Simulator 24 and Halo: MCC for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2.

Microsoft will be a very big supporter of the Switch 2 - Ports and Patches.

Hopefully Halo Studios comes back to supporting Halo: MCC again, they abandoned support because there was no revenue stream so they couldn't justify continued support after years of free support, they tried to add a way to make money which was harmless but Halo fans lost their shit. So hopefully a Switch and PlayStation revenue stream will convince them to come back to it.

Doesn't think we'll hear about new hardware this year but could see them announce their next gen ambitions, like the Xbox OS rumours.

And that's everything.

Super happy to see you so excited Ryuu, really make me smile.

But I don't know why, even if it's seem 2025 will be a really huge year for Xbox, I feel nothing...

I think I still have the feel that Xbox just give up at the worst time possiblee...

And all these drama on X is super exhausting.

I'm going to ignore Gears Collection and everyone else should because he didn't sound sure about that at all but if everything else pans out.

  • February - Avowed
  • April - South of Midnight
  • May - Doom: The Dark Ages
  • June - Oblivion Remaster
  • August - The Outer Worlds 2
  • September - Gears of War E-Day
  • November - Call of Duty
  • December - Fable
  • ???? - Towerborne and Double Fine? (Maybe).

Avowed's date is locked, South of Midnight and Doom are heavily speculated for those dates with South of Midnight having its date previously leaked by Exta, Oblivion date is one that Nate seems sure on but I imagine it could slip a couple months, The Outer Worlds 2 and Call of Duty should be a lock for 2025. So that only really leaves Gears E-Day and Fable as uncertain Imo.

I could believe one of them makes it but both is far too good to be true, that's a dream scenario, it's already a very strong line-up even if both of them don't make in 2025. If one of them makes 2025 it's an amazing line-up, if both of them make 2025 it's a God-tier line-up. The best publisher line-up of 2025 by far until Nintendo blows their load

This doesn't even include expansions to Diablo, Sea of Thieves, Starfield, Indiana Jones, The Elder Scrolls Online and lots more.

Because you're too attached to a piece of hardware, no offence, Lol.

You're still getting dozens of awesome looking titles, on the hardware of your choice, with more coming, with an amazing low-cost subscription service if you also have that, I played more games last year than I have in years. End of the day, it's the games that I care about most, literally nothing has changed for me thus far and half this thread plays on PC to begin with, Lol. You need to accept it's happening and move on instead of contributing to these "exhausting" discussions. If you were playing XGS titles on Steam you would still find a place in this thread and excitement, likewise I'm still on Xbox and I can't be arsed to constantly worry about what happens 10 years from now.

Leave X as well, it's a pile of trash. Even outside of stupid console war stuff, it'll be better for your mental health.

 Great answer, thanks :)

I just want the console to remain supported by publisher. For example, I don't want to find out that Resident Evil 9 will not be available on Xbox due to lack of players.

I nearly have 20 years of games, achievements, saves and friend on it.

Halo will be available elsewhere? No problem, like you said, already on PC.

But I don't want that these decisions to be bad for me as an Xbox player. (Sorry, my English is far from perfect :P)

Resident Evil 9 will likely release in the next few years so it will 100% be on Xbox Series X, Lol. Literally nothing will happen to Xbox Series X support, it is the best supported Xbox console ever and its support is increasing, not decreasing, it's only the next hardware after Series X that is understandable in having concerns for and I don't know if I can reassure you there, it's a decision you will have to make for yourself.

I'm going to be blunt; Everything is going to be multiplatform and I wish they would just say that already so that the engagement baiters on X have nothing left to shout about on every single port announced and we can actually focus on the videogames again. It exhausts me to post news after news, trying to generate discussion and the only discussion generated is stuff like this, I'm not personally attacking you, I like you and I understand your worries but this whole discussion is so boring now, Lmao.

Whether you like it or not, it doesn't matter, it is happening and it's time to accept it and move on. There is no amount of complaining that will change it. The Xbox Division will continue on, the videogames will be stronger for it overall and the studios. They have an incredible line up of games coming, an absolutely stacked year for 2025 and likely 2026 as well.

Nobody knows what will happen to the console for certain, despite some people acting like prophets who can see 10 years into the future, Lol. There's at least 2-3 years of very strong Xbox Series support left before next-gen. There's at least another (confirmed) generation in Xbox. Xbox Series has the best support of any Xbox console and I personally believe people overestimate the install base required for support and believe there are dozens of possibilities to ensure support of future hardware, such as the rumoured Xbox/PC hybrid.

I can't be arsed therefore to be constantly panicking about what happens to Xbox hardware in 6-10 years from now. I mean shit, who knows what my life overall would even be like 10 years from now, let alone gaming specifically, Lmao. Consoles have stagnated and we'll also see PS decrease the timeframe for PC ports until it's day one. Sometime in the future I may become a fully PC user regardless of what happens to Xbox consoles with increasing cost of hardware and PC becoming easier to access via multiple devices.

I sympathise with your concern around games, achievements and saves and I do think Microsoft needs to push more into Play Anywhere/Cross-Buy so that those concerns will become lesser because even IF Xbox hardware ceased to exist, your achievements and library would be available on PC. That may be why they're trying to do an Xbox OS for PC but we have too many unknowns right now to answer those questions. Personally I feel confident in switching to PC with my Xbox profile if Xbox hardware ceased to exist.

I'm not sure the friend concern is important in 2025. Practically every game now has cross-play, it doesn't matter where people play anymore. That is also why I think people overestimate a little how many people will switch simply because Halo is on PlayStation now. Because quite frankly there are millions of people who buy consoles largely for things like Fortnite, Call of Duty, etc. They will play other titles but most their time is spent on those games and with those games having cross-play there's no reason for them to care where their friends are playing and vice versa but there is a reason for them to care about their library/profile and remain stuck in said ecosystem.

But either way, I recommend just waiting for what Xbox's future plans are when they are revealed. There's zero reason to worry about the near future and Xbox Series support and thus a decision doesn't have to be made immediately but you can just watch how things progress and still enjoy the amazing titles coming to the platform. Then make a decision of where to go once Microsoft's actual next gen plans are revealed because it's next gen that will show if your concerns have merit, not this gen, and you've already built up a huge library so what's another few years? You can't change the past. Just enjoy the present and take it one day at a time, Lol.

Sorry for the long post, Lmao. I like you as a user but I'm just using you to get things off my chest This is a discussion which I'm so tired of that I've been ignoring it a lot lately and I'm trying to avoid spending too much time on it. Stick with Xbox and hope the Xbox hardware continues or move. Just have to make a decision that you're happy with and move on.

Advice to everyone would be leave X and avoid YouTube or at least carefully comb through your follow and subscriber list and nuke all the console warriors, rage-baiters, etc. Just follow news sites and the occasional positive role models of the community like Parris Lilly or Miles Dompier. Don't be afraid of dumping anyone that brings your mood down, you don't owe them anything, Lol. Leaving Twitter for BlueSky has been a refreshing movement for me and I've managed to make a timeline free of nonsense there too but if Bsky ever goes to shit I'll be dumping that too.

Nobody knows the future, don't listen to those who claim to, I feel cautiously optimistic but I don't know the future. I am happy with my Xbox Series and very excited for the next few years, I know we are getting another generation of hardware. I can't be bothered to panic about stuff 6-10 years from now. I might be frigging dead between then (hope not), the industry might collapse, Russia might lob a missile at UK, Lmao.

I don't caaaareeeeee, I just want to enjoy the near future rather than make endless hypothetical future predictions.

It's fine to worry about the future, I sympathise with your concerns even if I don't share them as strongly, but it's happening. Are you going to be able to change it? No. So is it worth it to sit and be sad about it for the next 5 years until it may or may not happen or just focus on what actually makes you happy in the near future? Or make a change to something that does bring you happiness, whether that be PC, PS or Nintendo.

I will continue using Xbox Series X and then either get the next Xbox console depending on what their announced plans are or switch to PC and take my Xbox profile/Game Pass to Windows Store. I will wait and see what their plans are, I am personally very excited about the Xbox OS prospect which will alleviate some concerns about library and achievements.

And just go back to enjoying the videogames! I want to talk videogames!

Wow, thanks for taking time to write all that

One quote stay in my head "Just enjoy the present and take it one day at a time".

I think I'm to into a mood like "If A happened, then it will cause B that will lead to C ect" wich is totally bs cause like you said, who can predict the future, Nobody.

So I'll try to just go back to my Xbox and continue my run of Cyberpunk

Thanks again for giving your true point of view, that's super interesting and make me realizing that's all but concerning right now.

Does NOT think Forza Horizon 6 will release in 2025.

Wild to me that Forza Horizon would somehow go from 2 years of development per game (1, 2, 3, and 4), to 3 years of dev time on 5, and then all of a sudden shoot all the way up to 5 years of development on FH6. It really makes no sense to me why Playground would suddenly slow up to that degree. Only thing I can think of is that the rumors are true and this is the last Forza Horizon game they plan to make (at least for a time, with the racing team at Playground making some other game next after FH6), so they want to make it absolutely massive. As a 2026 release it also feels likely that they could be making it for next gen and PC only, not even cross-gen possibly, which could also explain why it is taking so long, if the game has no reused car models or other graphical assets from FH5 it would clearly take alot longer to make, especially if they want a larger map with a large car list.
