Advice to everyone would be leave X and avoid YouTube or at least carefully comb through your follow and subscriber list and nuke all the console warriors, rage-baiters, etc. Just follow news sites and the occasional positive role models of the community like Parris Lilly or Miles Dompier. Don't be afraid of dumping anyone that brings your mood down, you don't owe them anything, Lol. Leaving Twitter for BlueSky has been a refreshing movement for me and I've managed to make a timeline free of nonsense there too but if Bsky ever goes to shit I'll be dumping that too.
Nobody knows the future, don't listen to those who claim to, I feel cautiously optimistic but I don't know the future. I am happy with my Xbox Series and very excited for the next few years, I know we are getting another generation of hardware. I can't be bothered to panic about stuff 6-10 years from now. I might be frigging dead between then (hope not), the industry might collapse, Russia might lob a missile at UK, Lmao.
I don't caaaareeeeee, I just want to enjoy the near future rather than make endless hypothetical future predictions.
It's fine to worry about the future, I sympathise with your concerns even if I don't share them as strongly, but it's happening. Are you going to be able to change it? No. So is it worth it to sit and be sad about it for the next 5 years until it may or may not happen or just focus on what actually makes you happy in the near future? Or make a change to something that does bring you happiness, whether that be PC, PS or Nintendo.
I will continue using Xbox Series X and then either get the next Xbox console depending on what their announced plans are or switch to PC and take my Xbox profile/Game Pass to Windows Store. I will wait and see what their plans are, I am personally very excited about the Xbox OS prospect which will alleviate some concerns about library and achievements.
And just go back to enjoying the videogames! I want to talk videogames!
