Wild to me that Forza Horizon would somehow go from 2 years of development per game (1, 2, 3, and 4), to 3 years of dev time on 5, and then all of a sudden shoot all the way up to 5 years of development on FH6. It really makes no sense to me why Playground would suddenly slow up to that degree. Only thing I can think of is that the rumors are true and this is the last Forza Horizon game they plan to make (at least for a time, with the racing team at Playground making some other game next after FH6), so they want to make it absolutely massive. As a 2026 release it also feels likely that they could be making it for next gen and PC only, not even cross-gen possibly, which could also explain why it is taking so long, if the game has no reused car models or other graphical assets from FH5 it would clearly take alot longer to make, especially if they want a larger map with a large car list.
